What we’re about
Thanks for being a part of our Meetup group, and AMC Boston 20s and 30s. For those of you who are new, this email is to give some basic information about how you can get more involved with us and get on even more trips (our other websites have more trip postings than you’ll find here on Meetup!)
AMC Boston 20's and 30's is a group of the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), dedicated to encouraging people in their 20s and 30s to get involved in the AMC and enjoy the outdoors.
With many volunteer leaders and co-leaders, we offer a variety of activities and events (both online and in-person). You may find us leading day hikes, backpacking, social events, local walks, trail maintenance, conservation work, kayaking, mountain biking, bicycling, skiing, camping, ice skating, and other activities. We sponsor trips throughout the year, most of which involve exploring different regions of New England. Check out some photos of our activities here!
If you want to be kept up to date with even more of our events, be sure to check the official postings at activities.outdoors.org. We do cross post some events to meetup but you have to register via the link in the description (signing up on Meetup does not approve you for the trip).
There are other ways to stay engaged with us.

Leaders: Chao Xie, Angela NguyenJoin us for an evening of exploration at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. We will observe the highly-anticipated annual Hanging Nasturtiums display, exclusively available until April 14. Cultivated for nine months to create 20-foot, lush vines filled with orange blossoms, the nasturtiums cascade from balconies overlooking the Museum's historic Courtyard.
Cascades of flowering nasturtium vines make their brief—but dramatic—appearance above the courtyard, celebrating the arrival of spring at the Museum. Nasturtium blooms last about three weeks. The annual Hanging Nasturtiums display continues an annual tradition started by Isabella during the week before Easter, marking the return of color to the Fenway. Come to witness the beginning of Spring with us and learn about the historical significance of the art museum.
Duration: We will meet at 6:00 pm and plan to be there for two hours.Cost: Various levels of free and discounted tickets are available with advance purchase and reservation on ISGM’s website . For examples -$5 per admission through different libraries. (e.g., BPL , Thomas Crane ) Participants need to obtain the promo code from libraries and book tickets online. -$2 per admission through EBT, WIC or CONNECTORCARE Card holders. Participants need to apply the promo code and book online at ISGM’s website
There is an option to purchase tickets on-site at full price, which is $22 per admission. Admission time may not be guaranteed without advance reservation.
Registered participants with any questions and barriers in obtaining the discounts can reach out to us by 4/9.
Chao Xie: chaoranxie@gmail.com Angela Nguyen: a.nguyen143@icloud.comAbout Nasturtium Nasturtium vines (Tropaeolum majus) are started from seed in June, planted in late summer, and trained in the Museum’s greenhouses throughout the winter to prepare them for their spectacular spring debut. The vines require continuous care in the greenhouse to ensure dramatic length—up to twenty feet—and require up to ten workers to install in the Museum. The result is a stunning display that cannot be found anywhere else.
