Hello members!
I’m so glad both Hanami Walk weekends turned out to be a huge success, thanks to our lovely hosts and all of you who attended! Big thanks for bringing such good vibes to the group — it means a lot, especially as we head into our second year with the new organiser team at the helm.
Let’s keep the momentum going! Here’s the schedule for April and the first weekend of May:

—— Welcome & Update from the Organiser (April, 2025)——
Dear members,
It’s been a smashing year since I, the organiser, left Amstelveen and our new hosting team took the reins. As a group, we’ve grown even more while the team has kept our weekly Japanese club running at the Cobra Museum. Thank you to all the attendees, the hosts, and the Cobra staff for making it happen! I could never have imagined this success a year ago, and I’m truly grateful.
For those who just found us, we hold events on weekly-basis for those curious about Japanese culture and want to practice Japanese language in person as the initial purpuse. Whatever your knowledge/language level is, you are always welcome. We are here to help each other and share any cultural experiences of ourselves through conversations. Please take it easy and join us anytime.
We’re now heading into our second year with this brilliant team, and it’s up to all of us to keep making the group enjoyable for everyone. However long it lasts, I believe we’re making a positive impact — on ourselves, on the lovely locals, and on visitors who enjoy exploring different cultures.
Though I’m now living in Japan, I feel a real connection when I see photos of you all enjoying the events. It truly makes me feel part of the community. Please keep me in the loop over here in the Netherlands — it’s my hope to see you all in person again someday, somewhere.
May your cultural journeys through our events bring a little ikigai to your lives.

新旧メンバーの皆さんへ（2025年4月更新）
唯一のオーガナイザーであった僕がアムステルフェーンを離れてから早くも1年が経ち、その間レギュラーの参加者で構成された新しいチームがホストを引き継いでくれました。おかげさまでグループはさらに成長し、コブラミュージアムでの日本語クラブは今でもほぼ毎週続いています。イベントに参加くださった皆さん、週替わりホストの皆さん、そしてコブラ美術館の皆さん、本当にありがとうございます。1年前には想像もつかなかったこの成功に、心から感謝しています。
そして初めてこのグループを見つけてくださった方へ、ようこそ！このイベントは、日本文化に興味がある方や日本語を対面で練習したい方、そして気軽に英語や日本語を話せる場を求めている日本人の方のために始めました。知識や語学力のレベルは問いません。どなたでも歓迎です。お互いをサポートしながら、会話を通じてそれぞれの文化的な経験を共有できる場所になればと思っています。どうぞ気軽に無理のないタイミングで参加してください。
この春、この素晴らしいオーガナイザーチーム体制が2年目に突入します。これからも皆んなでこのグループを楽しく、みんなにとって心地よい場にしていきたいと思っています。いつまで続けられるかわかりませんが、この活動はきっと異文化に興味のある人には、どなたにとってもポジティブな影響を与えてくれると信じています。
僕は今、日本に住んでいますが、皆さんがイベントを楽しんでいる写真を見るたびにとても嬉しく、コミュニティの一員でいられることを実感します。これからもオランダの皆さんとのつながりを大切にしながら、そしていつかどこかで皆さんに直接お会いできることを願っています。
僕たちのイベントを通じた文化をめぐる旅が、少しでも皆さんの日常を楽しくする小さな「生きがい」となりますように。
