Arizona Psychedelic Society is spreading the word of a musical and healing 2-night event. Walter Studios is having two nights of sound and healing - a concert on October 23rd and a sound healing on October 24th.

Prepare to embark on a transcendent journey with the world-renowned musician, healer, and educator Porangui.

Accompanied by the visionary co-facilitator Ashley Klein, they extend an invitation to an embodied experience that seamlessly bridges the seen and unseen worlds. Through the universal language of music, dance, and authentic expression, Porangui's live improvised performances and Ashley's spoken guidance coalesce with captivating visual projections, promising an unparalleled odyssey that leaves us more whole, alive, and deeply connected.

The Chakaruna World Bridging Tour draws its inspiration from the ancient Quechua concept of "Chakaruna," meaning World Bridger. "Chaka" represents the Bridge, while "Runa" symbolizes the People, reflecting the sacred duty of forging connections between the tangible and the intangible, the Earth and the Spirit, the individual and the collective. Through this tour, Porangui invites us to step into our own roles as Chakarunas, intricately weaving our spirits into the vibrant tapestry of life and synchronizing with the pulsating heartbeat of the Earth.

For the night of the concert - we're honored to showcase Arouna Diarra. Arouna was born in Bob-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, a major hub of cultural & artistic significance in West Africa. A griot from the Mandingue culture of West Africa, Arouna Diarra is an accomplished n'goni & balafon player. Performing a tradition of folk songs reflecting topics from war to love for one another, Arouna sings with spirit, nostalgia, and great joy, in his native language, Bambara. Whether performing on stage at Red Rocks, the jungle of Costa Rica, or intimate community settings Arouna and his band bring job, harmony, and a connection to traditional folk music.

Explore and learn about the indigenous Amazonian practice of Rapeh, also known as Hapé, with a Master Medicine Carrier. Ms. Taahaabaah will be sharing her professional and personal work in building a relationship with Grandfather tobacco, from the South/Central American tradition.

Your Indigenous Plant Medicine Guide will be educating you on how to work with this very special shamanic snuff and how to surrender to the difficult nature of receiving this dynamic medicine. She will also be demonstrating how to hold space for yourself, connecting with the medicine, and learning how to ground into Mother Earth.

The Plant
Hapé is a plant spirit ally that has been used in sacred ceremony by many indigenous cultures of the Americas for thousands of years. It is a preparation of highly refined tobacco powder blended with other sacred medicinal plants, typically made with Nicotiana Rustica, also known as mapacho. This rainforest tobacco differs from the common tobacco found in mass-produced cigarettes.

Hapé is served by the facilitator using a special ceremonial blow pipe called a Tepi, one nostril at a time. When applied and served with intention and with respect for the tradition it is coming from, Hapé is beautiful cleansing medicine, bringing us into the present moment and into our bodies and spirit. It’s a wonderful way to begin the meditative and sensory experience of a sound bath!

To begin a Hapé practice takes courage and curiosity to step forward and embody the power of this medicine from the jungle. This work can be very transformative, especially when building a deep spiritual practice with Self and Sacred earth medicines. Each participant will have a unique experience connecting with the medicine. No one journey is the same, as in life.

Join us for a Halloween family-friendly event to paint or carve pumpkins at Encanto Park.

October 27th @ 2pm

Meet us at the area called "Amp 1" on Amphitheater Island as shown on the map circled in red.

What to bring:

• Pumpkin to carve or paint (carving tools and paint/brushes will be supplied)
• Pumpkin flavored/inspired snack
• Folding table, chair, or canopy if you have one as tables and chairs are limited.

Just because we can't get enough time to spend with you beautiful souls, come to Meraki Kava Bar to hang out with the Arizona Psychedelic Society every Monday night. This event will be an informal social gathering to meet other like-minded individuals.

The first Monday of every month will be of an educational nature typically featuring a speaker (look for our separate speaker event for October 7th at 7pm at Meraki). We'd like to plan the third Monday of each month to have a psychedelic topic. And the Mondays in between will be social hangouts to meet up with your favorite people.
