Our Third Thursday Ceremony is a sacred evening devoted to two Amazonian medicines—Hapé and Sananga—guided by a skilled shamanic practitioner.

### 🌎 The Significance of Ceremony

Ceremony is the ancient way of bringing people together in prayer, intention, and healing. In this sacred container, we step out of the busyness of daily life and enter into a field of presence, where the medicines of the Earth and Spirit can work with us. Through ritual, sound, and prayer, we remember our connection to the ancestors, the natural world, and to each other.

### 🌬️ About Hapé

Hapé (ha-PAY) is a sacred snuff made from finely ground mapacho (jungle tobacco) and medicinal plants. Used for centuries by Amazonian tribes, Hapé clears heavy energies, grounds the body, and opens spiritual connection. It is served with deep reverence and prayer.

### 👁️ About Sananga

Sananga is a powerful eye drop medicine prepared from the roots and bark of the Tabernaemontana plant. Known for its initial intensity and deep cleansing effects, Sananga clears stagnant energies, resets the nervous system, and sharpens both inner and outer vision.

### ✨ Ceremony Flow

• Opening of sacred space with prayer and intention
• Guided serving of Hapé
• Grounding with breath and stillness
• Guided serving of Sananga
• Sound medicine with drum, rattle, and voice
• Gentle integration and closing of the circle

### 🌱 How to Prepare

• Eat lightly 2–3 hours before (avoid heavy foods)
• Drink water throughout the day
• Avoid caffeine, alcohol, cannabis, and other substances on ceremony day
• Bring water, a journal, and any sacred item for the altar

### 💧 Aftercare

The medicines continue to work beyond the ceremony. To support integration:

• Rest and allow your body to recalibrate
• Journal reflections or insights
• Spend time in stillness or nature
• Nourish yourself with water and simple foods
• Avoid overstimulation afterward

Welcome to the Arizona Psychedelic Society Recovery Alliance. We are a community dedicated to supporting individuals as they seek to integrate their psychedelic experiences to promote personal growth, break harmful cycles, and cultivate healthy relationships.

Our group offers a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals at any stage of their recovery journey—whether it's related to substance use, sexual trauma, food, or other challenges with an emphasize on education and harm reduction.

Whether you are new to psychedelics or have prior experience, our goal is to empower you to use these tools for positive change and to build a community of like-minded individuals committed to personal transformation.

Group Guidelines:

• Anonymous
• Confidential
• Not a space for “advice”, but to listen and hold space for one another
• This is not an “abstinence” only group - we offer a non-judgemental space for all individual paths of recovery
• Plant medicine use is not necessary for participation

Please note the support provided through Arizona Psychedelic Society Recovery Alliance is not a substitute for counseling nor structured as a 12-step recovery group. We are a peer-to-peer support group. If there is a desire for such services, resources are available upon request.

The cadence of support group meetings will be:
1st Tuesdays on-line and 3rd Sundays in-person of each month.
