You can join me month after month to learn the endless ways to artfully work with the Gelli plate.
The Gelli plate is a reusable printing plate through which you make monoprints without a large, expensive press.
Working with the Gelli is very exciting and like many modes of printmaking, there is always the element of surprise as you never quite know what the print you pull will look like.
The heart and soul of Gelli is about creating texture.
With the Gelli, you'll layer inking on top of inking, incorporate "Old Wall," add Chine Collee and beyond. You'll design and make your own stamps and stencils and use recyclables to add more texture and definition. You'll eventually learn how to use the Gelli in a more painterly way.
