What we’re about

This is an Ashtanga Yoga group, a form of yoga that works on power, flexibility, and mobility via a series of postures while focusing on the breath. This is also a non-heated yoga, and doing it in extreme heat is not recommended.

There is no prerequisite to try Ashtanga and every pose has modifications to help you improve. Even though the yoga starts out as hard, with enough practice, it eventually can become a moving meditation to help calm the mind.

Our goal is to show more people Ashtanga yoga and hopefully, they'll like it even though it is hard work, which can be very rewarding. We're hoping to meet anyone willing to work on improving their bodies. Our meetups, currently, will be in classes located at West Reading Hot Yoga studio and Empower Yoga in Kutztown. All classes will be led by Stephanie Stegmeier, a 20-year practicing Ashtangi. We hope that eventually, Ashtanga can spread and become more popular.
