What we’re about
We’re a social networking and culture exploration group for all members of Atlanta’s LGBTQIA+ community looking to enjoy culture and recreation events in the city while expanding their social network. The group organizes a diverse range of events – dinners out, live performances, hiking and biking events, and other events based on group interest. 2023’s twice-monthly event calendar might include a Friday Jazz Night at the High Museum, a weekend cycle along the Beltline, a Symphony performance, or trying out a recently opened hot restaurant (before the waiting lists ensue 😉).
Join us for lively, thoughtful conversation with other upbeat LGBTQIA+ residents and make new friends in the process. Bring your own interests and ideas for group events and we’ll help organize them.

Our October event is a field trip to enjoy brunch and catch the ‘Queer Perspectives’ exhibition at the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art in Buckhead, GA. (Note: this is the city of Buckhead, not the neighborhood.)
Description of the exhibit: ‘Queer Perspectives’ highlights the importance of visibility and diverse representation within LGBTQ+ communities, especially in rural areas. As part of the museum's annual Brotherhood Exhibitions, the display features works from 13 Georgia-based LGBTQ+ artists, including Nat Blooming, Perrine Gaudry, and Rial Rye, with a special exhibit by Freddie L. Styles.
The exhibit explores themes of language, identity, and visibility, reflecting the inclusive philosophy of German-American artist Steffen Thomas (1906–1990), who emphasized humanity and equality in his art and life. (Thomas settled in Midtown Atlanta and was best known for his public art.) We’ll be able to catch this unique exhibit before it closes on January 4.
Great tidbit about Steffen Thomas: "More than 60 years ago, Thomas etched a phrase that would become his signature motto into a granite wall of his Stone Mountain Art Studio: This world is too small for less than brotherhood, too dangerous for less than truth”.

Cost: Museum admission is $10 - I'll coordinate our purchases. Brunch is on your own.

1:00 – Private docent tour of Queer Perspectives.
- We’re fortunate that the Museum’s Director, Alyson Vuley, will personally guide us.
- She’ll provide an overview of this unique Museum, and then show us the exhibit.
- You’ll see Alyson in this great video clip.
~2:00 – Tour ends.
- You’re welcome to linger at the Museum, or choose your own adventure.
- The drive back to Atlanta is about 60 minutes.

Our November event is a lunch and docent-led tour of The Warehouse, a new-ish contemporary arts museum in the Westside.
The Warehouse houses the collection of Atlanta residential developer John Wieland. It's a 39,000-square-foot private collection in West Midtown, and opened to the public back in April.
The museum's collection includes more than 400 paintings, sculptures, installations and other works by Ed Ruscha, Howard Finster, Cindy Sherman, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, Ai Weiwei, and 250 other artists. The collection covers the 1970s to the present.
