- Participation is open to ALL CANADA citizens and residents regardless of their citizenship status (proof might be requested)
- No entry fee. No WBIF annual fee. Optional $50 CAD side pool 100% return, goes only to the top winners registered in the side pool (eTransfer to support@canadabackgammon.ca)
- The tournament will start on January 20, 2025. The duration of the tournament depends on the number of participants
- The tournament will be played in Four-KO mode (Quadruple Eliminations): each participant plays until he/she has either lost 4 times and is therefore eliminated, or the only participant with fewer defeats wins the tournament
- All games are played to 11 points. Matches are played exclusively on Heroes with clock (11 min and 10 sec delay), where matches are automatically reported. The game reports will be evaluated with eXtreme Gammon and results will be published
- The pairings of rounds 1 to 3 are randomly drawn and played at the same time. Then, the draw for the next pairings will be made round by round according to the Swiss system tournament software by Hans-Jürgen Werner. A tie-breaker rating does not take place
- The match points of the individual matches and the calculated Performance Rate have no effect on the tournament
- In addition, the Canada Backgammon Association - CBGA and WBIF tournament rules apply
- The three top-ranked participants of the tournament are rewarded with individual certificates
- Applications to the tournament possible from now untill January 19, 2025 by filling the registration form on the website: www.canadabackgammon.ca/register
