MISSION STATEMENT
Fox Cities Backpackers exists as a cooperative effort of its members to provide a gathering place for people who share the common interest of backpacking. We pool our time, talents and resources to facilitate backpacking trips and provide resources for our fellow members. We share our knowledge and skills with fellow backpackers and learn together.

LIABILITY WAIVER
A Yes/Attending RSVP signifies that you have read and understand the Meetup Terms of Service agreement including the Waiver of Liability contained within Section 6 and understand that participation is solely at your own risk. It also signifies that you agree to abide by the Fox Cities Backpackers Bylaws and Code of Conduct found therein. If you are not familiar with or do not understand these documents, do not sign up until you are. An organizer can help you locate them. Furthermore, organizers and event hosts are volunteers and do not have any backpacking, safety or first aid related training. Paying for an event is not hiring a guide; it is simply sharing costs between participants.

LEADERSHIP TEAM
Fox Cities Backpackers is run by a team of volunteer Event Organizers and, as a cooperative, it is led by an Executive Board (aka Co-organizers), which currently includes Amie, Brian, Claudette, Holly, Jenna and Nikki. Feel free to message any of us or FCB Organizers via Meetup with any questions or suggestions.

MEMBER DUES
Fox Cities Backpackers is a not-for-profit organization. We do collect an annual membership fee of $3.65, which is processed after an initial 180-day trial period. All funds from member dues are used to support the group and its activities. This document outlines the origins and purpose of collecting member dues: Member Dues Information Sheet .

SKILL RATING AND ADVANCEMENT
We use a skill rating system to match members with trips that suit their abilities. Typically, members complete two BEGINNER trips to move to INTERMEDIATE, then two INTERMEDIATE trips to move up to ADVANCED. Promotion to EXPEDITION level is determined by a review panel. Experienced backpackers can bypass lower levels up to Intermediate 1 by contacting Jenna or FCB Organizers and answering a few questions. Please sign up only for trips that match or are below your current skill level designation; otherwise, you may be removed from the trip.
