What we’re about
Welcome to the BAHR (Brighton and Hove Ramblers) Thursday and Saturday walking group. We are a friendly walking group based in Brighton and Hove. Our walks can be found on https://www.ramblers.org.uk/go-walking/ramblers-groups/brighton-hove-group. You are welcome to join us for three walks before joining the Ramblers Association. Please be aware that all walk leaders are volunteers and are doing their best to provide an enjoyable experience for all. Walking as group is a different experience to walking on your own,Walk leaders need to fulfill certain conditions to be covered by Rambler's public liability insurance.
Walks are generally at a speed of roughly 2.5 miles per hour.
If you choose to come our on walks, please ensure the following:
- - you are equipped with suitable footwear - walking boots ( walking shoes in summer)
- - you are equipped with suitable clothing - particularly waterproofs and sunhats - jeans are not advised for walking as they tend to hold water when wet,
- - You have enough water and food
- - You have an emergency contact card - giving details of who to contact if you are injured on a walk.
- -a mobile phone and basic first aid such as plasters.
- -You make the leader aware of any medical problems which may require help on the walk.
- You are able to walk the distance comfortably and at the speed outline above. If you are unsure about this, it is best to start with Brighton and Hove healthwalks which do slightly less length and walk at a slower speed and there you can see how you compare to the rest of the group.
This group is for ramblers' members only. Please quote your membership number and full name when requesting to join. Without this, your membership will be declined but you are welcome to reapply with the relevant information.
