Note: I have a reservation for 20 people only for the wine tasting. I can accommodate the first 20 individuals who express interest. If you'd like to participate, please let me know in advance. Any additional guests beyond 20 will be subject to the winery’s discretion.
For the picnic, I kindly ask everyone to bring light snacks to share, so we can all enjoy a nice spread together.
We will be doing this hike in reverse order, so that the Picchetti Winery is our midpoint, rather than our starting point. We will climb switchbacks up to a shaded ridge, where we will be able to see fabulous landscape views of Steven's Canyon and surrounding hills. We will then pass by meadows, ponds, and hopefully deer to arrive at Picchetti Winery.
What to bring for the hike:
- Hiking shoes
- Plenty of water
- Comfortable clothing
Learn about Picchetti Winery here: https://picchetti.com/
Once at the winery, we will have wine! (Up to 10 customers at a time, so we may need to take turns.) The cost will be $25 for a flight of 5 wines. After the wine, we can snack in the surrounding picnic areas, sobering up with good food and great conversation. From there, we will walk back down to our cars, being very careful and very joyful on the way back!
Please Note: You are more than welcome to hike and hang (and not drink wine), and similarly, you are more than welcome to just join us at Picchetti Winery if you're not feeling up for the hike. If you will only be participating in the wine tasting, we ask that you let us know ahead of time, so we can keep you updated on our arrival time.
Please exercise caution and drink at your own risk. Expect to drink about two glasses worth of wine if you order the flight. We anticipate spending at least an hour relaxing and eating between drinking and hiking to make sure every member is capable of walking back. The walk back will be another hour, which should in theory be enough time for all of us to be sober before driving home. However, only you know your limits. If any member can't, for whatever reason, walk back, one of the hosts will have our car parked by the winery.
