Tucson Endurance Sports, 7231 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ, USI wanted to do Saguaro National Park East, but have been unable to confirm if it is open to cyclists. Hopefully, we'll do that ride next week.
Ride Description: Here's the link to the route map.
We’ll meet in the southeast corner of the Lowe’s shopping center ny Tucson Endurance Sports. We will follow the Loop to Sabino Canyon Road where we’ll transit onto Sabino Canyon Road after we cross the wash.
Turning right on to Tanque Verde, we’ll bear right onto Wrightson Road, then left on to Pantano Road. After the turn we’ll take the on-ramp back onto Tanque Verde. Next will be a right turn onto Woodland Road. Just before we get back to Tanque Verde, we’ll take a left onto Bear’s Path Road, which we’ll take back to Tanque Verde
On Tanque Verde, we’ll take a right and maneuver through the strip mall to the stop light on Bear Canyon Road where we’ll cross onto Bear Canyon Road. From here the route is pretty straight forward.
Bear Canyon to Snyder the Snyder to North Solider Trail. We’ll turn left on to East Roger Road and ride into Agua Caliente Park for a rest break. After that we’ll ride back to Solider Trail, turn left and ride down to Tanque Verde.
At Tanque Verde we’ll turn left crossing the road (watch for cars) and ride to 49ers Country Club. We’ll follow the route through 49ers to Wentworth. Turning right onto Wenworth we’ll follow it to Speedway Blvd.
For the last leg of the ride, we’ll turn left on Speedway and ride out to the entrance to Tanque Verde Ranch. Once there we’ll head west on Speedway back to the start of the ride. While the route profile may look hilly, the max grade is only 3.6%, so this is a fairly flat ride.
This is a C paced ride meaning the final average should be between 12-14 MPH, though the pace during the ride may exceed that occasionally.
Wheels rolling at the start time listed above. Please arrive 15 minutes beforehand to sign the ride waiver. You must be current with your GABA membership. Click here to become a member.
