What we’re about
This is a Book Club for the Longs/North Myrtle Beach/Little River Area. This is not a serious Book Club. We will meet to discuss the current book, but we will also use this time to socialize and enjoy each other’s company! There are 2 rules for the books chosen. 1. No boring books! Books are chosen for entertainment reading purposes only. So nothing even resembling autobiographical. However, that doesn't mean we can't read books that will both entertain and challenge us intellectually. 2. All books chosen must also be available on audio books and kindle apps as well as paperback.
Books are suggested by the members (please, please, please send me book suggestions!) and then placed on the poll and voted on by all members...so the books chosen are picked by the members...majority rules!
Dues will be $6 yearly starting June 2021 and must be paid within 60 days (updated recently) after joining the group. All dues are paid online via the Meetup App. Attendance will be taken at events so be courteous and please keep your RSVPs updated. We must stay in good standing with the local restaurants in order to be able to keep working with them. The last thing I want to do is to put a 'no show' policy in place!
We welcome all in the area, no age limits. If you like to read and socialize, come on out to an event and see what we are all about! We are also a positive group who like to encourage each other, so please no negativity on this site.
***We are a very fun group, but I understand we may not be the right fit for everyone for various reasons. Anyone can leave the group anytime they wish. There is a free trial period for the group prior to paying for the membership. Your membership and your membership dues are managed by YOU! So I will not be issuing a refund for your dues once you are beyond the free trial period. Thank you for your understanding!

Annual Member Dues are refundable if:
- The group was closed (or a member was removed from the group) within 3 months of their payment, and the member account is in good standing.
- There have been no scheduled events since a member paid to join the group, and the member account is in good standing.

We are loving the new venue. Great menu and no parking issues!
There was a smaller group this month as we discussed "The Night We Lost Him" so we were able to fit around the round table and we had some really great conversations. Thank you to everyone who was able to come out to the meeting. I truly appreciate when you are able to fit our meetings into your busy schedules.The winner for the April book from the poll by a landslide is "None of This is True" by Lisa Jewell. I haven't read this one yet, but I am looking forward to it! Please vote for your book choice for the May Meetup in the poll below.
I truly appreciate all the book suggestions for the poll! Please if you have book suggestions for the polls, I would greatly appreciate if you would send them to me because my list of suggestions has dwindled down! The only rule for book suggestions is....no autobiography titles and they must be available via audiobooks.
Please remember if you are unable to attend after you have RSVP'd, please update your RSVP so that the attendee list is accurate! When the restaurant calls me for an update on our reservation, it is important that I am able to give them an accurate count. This restaurant has been so accommodating for us and we want to remain on good terms with the restaurant!! So please keep your RSVP updated.
It is very important that you keep your RSVP updated as much in advance as possible (24-48 hours in advance if possible).
*** The management at Carrabba's will be making the Happy Hour Menu (both food and drinks) available to us even though we will not be sitting in the bar area. WOO HOO!!
