What we’re about
The "BOOTS: Benefits Of Outdoor Therapy for Stress" initiative explores how walking and spending time in nature can alleviate stress.
It highlights the therapeutic advantages of nature, including reduced stress and anxiety, and improved mood
The group invites you to join hikes, and nature walks, which promote physical activity and mindfulness.
By connecting individuals with the natural environment, BOOTS aims to foster a sense of calm and resilience, and an improved sense of well-being.
Thank you for your interest in our BOOTs walks! We're excited to offer these outdoor therapy sessions to help reduce stress and improve overall well-being.
To ensure the quality and sustainability of these walks, we've implemented a small fee. Unfortunately, without funding or sponsorships, it's not possible to run these groups for free due to the ongoing costs of organising and leading the sessions.
Your participation fee will directly contribute to:
- Qualified Leadership: Ensuring that you're guided by a certified Hill and Moorland Leader and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner.
- Group Safety: Maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
- Insurance: We carry comprehensive insurance to protect participants in case of accidents or injuries.
- Meetup Fees: We use Meetup to organise our events, which involves a fee for their platform (£196 p/a).
- Equipment and Supplies: We provide essential equipment such as first-aid kits, and information aids, which incur costs.
- Program Development: Continuously improving and expanding our outdoor therapy offerings.
If you're interested in sponsoring or funding our BOOTs walks, so that we can offer free sessions to the community, please don't hesitate to contact us. Your generosity would make a significant difference and allow us to reach even more people in need.
