Come draw some dynamic poses with us at BFAC studio- we do shorter poses here, 5 minutes to start, and ranging through 10, 20, and 30 minute poses.

Parking on-street is legal for two hours for people without Somerville parking permits, BUT WE PREFER THAT YOU PARK IN THE LOT AROUND BACK, WHICH IS OPEN till about 11PM. The building is a working factory, so the lot is monitored and safe, though it is a bit of a walk around the building to the front door. Please do not leave your car in the lot past 11pm or so, or on Saturdays past three pm, as they lock the gate if there is not late shift and your car will be locked in until the next shift starts at the factory (which could be Monday).

Anatomy comes to life in this all-levels figure drawing class. Each session will focus on a different aspect of the body. Every week we will start anew with a different area, so feel free to attend as your schedule permits. Whether drawing from life or imagination, this workshop will enhance your ability to create realistic and dynamic figures. No experience necessary. Basic supplies included, but feel free to bring your own!

Welcome to BYO(Book)! A non-traditional book club centered around a love of reading with no assigned book 📖 The general structure is that the first 30 minutes are a meet/greet between participants where we can share what we’ve been reading, ask people for recommendations, or just simply meet new people! Then, the following 1.5 hours are dedicated time to read whatever your current novel/article/magazine/manga/comic/etc. is of your choosing. Snacks and beverages provided! There will also be a rotating stack of books so that if you’d like to pick up something new just for the night you can! See you there!

Do you have unfinished textile or sewing projects? Do you like to complain about how many unfinished projects you have? Do you wish you could commiserate with a fun group of people in a low-key setting? Join us for a relaxing and social evening co-working session in the “living room” at the BFAC. Professional artist and fashion designer Mary Kahle of Kahle Studios will be on site to trouble-shoot and provide feedback! All experience levels and ages welcome! Snacks will be provided.
