What we’re about
A place for anyone learning British Sign Language (BSL), or those who want to meet up and practice conversation, in a semi-structured environment.
We welcome any people at any level of BSL, to come along and give it your best, whether you have only started, or you are a fluent signer.
This is not a teaching set up, but rather an informal conversation group where we can all learn from each other, and a friendly place where you can meet people with a shared interest in BSL, whether Deaf, deaf, Hard of Hearing or Hearing BSL users. Whilst we encourage people to ask for signs they might not know, we definitely frown upon statements such as 'that is the wrong sign' or 'you are doing that wrong'. BSL is a living language with plenty of regional variation, as well as personal affinities for one sign over another that means the same, so please, don't be rude to others!
