What we’re about
Are you interested in connecting with other families with gifted students? Whether or not your children have been officially identified as "gifted and talented" (GT), we would love to share resources, answer your questions, and provide engaging opportunities for your kiddos to interact with other GT kiddos.
Boulder Valley Gifted and Talented (BVGT), a nonprofit organization that supports GT families, students, and educators, hosts playdates and other activities throughout the year for students of all ages (and their grown-ups), with opportunities to play board games, do STEM activities, share favorite books, go on a nature scavenger hunt, do arts and crafts, take tours, and more! BVGT playdates take place at libraries, parks, community centers, and other locations around the district.
This meetup group is open to all families in or near Boulder County, including those whose children attend private schools or are home schooled. (Our organization is not affiliated with the Boulder Valley School District.) And you don't need a BVGT membership to attend (although we'd love it if you joined)!
Our playdates tend to be best for kindergarteners through middle schoolers. Teens who are willing to help out can receive community service credit! Their tasks might include helping set up and clean up, greeting guests, playing games with younger children, encouraging them to build or create something, and talking to parents about their experience as a gifted student.
Questions? Suggestions? Want to help plan and/or run a playdate? Want to arrange to volunteer? Please contact Sarah at [sdodson-knight@bvgt.org](mailto:sdodson-knight@bvgt.org).
