We contribute to this community not because we have to, but because we want to.
- CalPy @ Prompt Driven Launch Party presented by Toolhouse500 Global HQ, Palo Alto, CA
RSVP here:
https://lu.ma/arq0umjrThis month's meeting will be in person at the launch party for last month's presentation on "Prompt Driven Development". We'll stream to Zoom as best we can.
PDD Launch event:
Ever feel like using Claude Code or Cursor is similar to throwing a grenade in the codebase? You are never sure what will be added, deleted or duplicated. As the codebase grows, the agentic coder starts adding more bugs than it fixes?Prompt-Driven Development (PDD) replaces the traditional patch-and-maintain model with a regenerative approach that keeps software clean, consistent, and easy to evolve. Instead of repeatedly editing tangled code, PDD treats the natural-language prompt as the single source of truth.
The PDD CLI sync loop injects dependencies, generates multi-language code, writes unit tests, fixes crashes, and updates the prompt in one run. Changes are made at the high-level prompt, and the system regenerates fresh code, avoiding the accumulation of technical debt and reducing long-term maintenance effort.
PDD delivers higher reliability, lower costs, and less active developer time by freeing engineers from constant AI supervision. Developers can work in cloud mode with GitHub SSO and high-end models or locally with their own keys, making it suitable for everything from rapid prototypes to enterprise-grade systems with predictable speed, quality, and scalability.
