Ever show up with your canine companion at the dog park and there's not a single pup to play with? Let's fix that by making some assigned times to meet up so every good dog has a good pal just waiting to run and play. This group is perfect for dog lovers looking to ensure there's a friendly crowd. Join us for fun and relaxed gatherings at the dog park where you can engage in conversations with other dog owners and or just enjoy watching your furry companions have a blast. Let's create a friendly and welcoming community for our Canine Compadres!
We'll plan all our initial meet ups at Gold Park Dog Park, 415 Dimmocks Mill Rd, Hillsborough, NC
If it catches on and we get a core group we can always adventure to other locations or add even more variety of days and times
Here is information and the dog park rules at Gold Park:
The dog park is a fenced-in area in Gold Park where dogs area allowed to be off leash. It has the same hours as Gold Park.
Dogs must be:
At least 6 months old and not in heat.
Current on all required vaccinations, with rabies tags displayed.
On a maximum 6-foot leash before entering and when leaving the facility.
Within sight and under voice control of owner at all times.
Immediately removed if showing aggression.
Owners must:
Collect and dispose of all dog waste.
Help keep the off-leash area safe for all visitors.
Report all dog bites to Orange County Animal Control. Call 919-942-7387 or 911.
Ground Covering
The dog park's ground is covered with shredded hardwood mulch that:
Is safe for use by children and dogs.
Helps reduce dust, dirt and the ground cover’s movement.
Grass has not been planted because maintenance would be difficult with the park's heavy use and because establishing grass would require several seasons of nonuse.
