What we’re about
Canterbury Social Connections is a social group where you can meet new people, try new activities or get more people involved in the activities you enjoy.
The group is designed so that any member can 'host' an event, so there are always new types of events on the schedule. Its free to be a member, and to attend events, we just ask that active members make a donation to the running costs every 3 months.
Some members host regular events, including pub quizzes, walking, trail running, book club, meals out, badminton sessions, film club, drinks nights, music gigs, board game events and many more.
Whether you've just moved to the area, or have been here for a while and are looking to expand your social circle; come along to an event, meet some like-minded people and experience some adventures! New members are welcome at every event - we were all new once!
Once you've been to your first meetup with the group, if you want to host your own event, message one of the event organisers.

See all- Full Moon Walk and Pub Social (Bridge to Patrixbourne Return - 3 km)The Red Lion Inn, Canterbury
*Fully Booked*. A walk with a difference from Bridge to Patrixbourne (circular route) to experience the full moon in the countryside. Meet at 6.45 pm at the corner of the Red Lion Inn at Bridge (what three words - meals.socks.cyclones) — plenty of parking along the High Street or Patrixbourne Road.
We should return to Bridge at 8.00 pm (ish) and then have a short drive to the Old Gate Inn (what three words - local.barks.almost) for social drinks and/or something to eat. Their kitchen closed at 9.00 pm, so please look at their menus beforehand if you want to order any bar snacks or food from their main menu. This will ensure food orders (if any) can be swiftly dealt with.
Bridge is a 10-minute drive from Canterbury. The walk will take roughly one hour. It is a 3 km round trip with some inclines. A great opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and enjoy the full moon. Please remember to bring suitable footwear, clothing, and a torch. Numbers are limited to 12. Book early to avoid disappointment.
The full moon rises at 8.44 pm and sunset is 9.11 pm. The event finishes at approx. 10.15 pm.
There are plenty of parking spots behind the Old Gate Inn in their car park. Tip, Do remember to register your car on the screen by the bar though to avoid a disappointment and a fine!
Please keep your RSVP up-to-date so others can attend if you can't make it. Please ensure that lifts are secured well in advance.
