What we’re about

CHEARS! stands for Central Hampshire Entertainment, Activity, Recreational & Social Interest Meetup group. If you’re new to the area, just want to make some new friends or to try out different activities, you’re invited to join us at CHEARS!

We were formed in 2012 for active adults with a positive view of life and varied interests. With the support of the CHEARS! organisers, event hosts and you as participants, CHEARS! arranges regular events, including walks, meals, theatre trips, pub quizzes, book groups, live music and much more. Check out the calendar of varied events scheduled.

Hosting events
The group has a treasurer/ lead organiser (Gail) and a co-organiser (Paula) who host some events, but this group relies on its members to host other events. We welcome offers to host via Meetupchears@gmail.com or message throughteh site.

SUBSCRIPTION
Members pay an annual £12 fee which is used to cover Meetup fees as as well as deposits for functions, prizes etc. New members are invited to try out the group in two events before paying subs into LLoyds business account CHEARS! Meetup Group Winchester account No 32158662 sort code 30 99 50

JOINING
Please complete your profile with A CLEAR, RECENT SINGLE PROFILE PHOTO (WITHOUT SUNGLASSES ) so we can recognise and welcome you, otherwise we may decline your membership request. Use either you full name or your first name with an initial for your surname.

TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP
By applying for membership of the CHEARS! Meetup Group you confirm your agreement to the following terms:

CHEARS! is about meeting and socialising with others. The organisers reserve the right to remove anyone from the group who is pestering other members or using threatening or abusive language.
Organisers accept no liability for any injury, loss or damage, howsoever caused, from members attending an event.
It is it is advisable not to put personal information such as mobile numbers in comments.
To get the latest news about events and messages, you'll need to turn on your email /push notifications managed through your profile. The organisers and CHEARS! members don't have access to your email address. Look out for your message alerts - a green dot shows on the 'message' bar.
Please aim to only sign up for events which you are committed to and to cancel asap if no longer able to attend.
Payments made in advance for events are generally non-refundable. Members are welcome to sell or pass the place on to another member via the Meetup site
