Welcome to the Cheltenham Initiative for Discussion and Engagement on AI (IDEA)! As an AI researcher (with patent pending 🥳) based here, I’m eager to share my experiences and learn about yours. We’re a community in Cheltenham passionate about exploring the many aspects of Artificial Intelligence. Our conversations deal with AI’s impact on politics, the economy, philosophy, and its portrayal in the media—not just the technical side.
Whether you’re an expert, starting out, or simply curious about AI, we aim to create a friendly and inclusive space for people in their 20s and 30s from all backgrounds and levels of expertise.
Our primary goal is to encourage discussions and connections among members. Initially we'll be starting out with regular meetups and social events but based on interest looking at expanding into themed discussions, research groups, classes, lightning talks (technical or otherwise), or collaborative projects—shaped by what interests us as a group.
We believe that diverse perspectives make our conversations more meaningful. So, if you’re interested in AI and looking for a welcoming community to explore it with, come join us!
