Chicago Anime Hangouts

meetup for chicago anime hangouts! hope to have conversations about anime, and manga and more. just show up :D just note that this is an event focused around volunteering, and helping people.

Join us every Sunday morning to help make and distribute bagged lunches that include salads, sandwiches, and more to the hungry/homeless throughout Chicago.

We make and package the food in the center, and then distribute it outside in the city, so dress according to the weather.

The Downtown Islamic Center was founded in 1976 as a spiritual haven for Muslims in the Chicago Loop area to connect, worship, and flourish together.

While this is run out of the islamic center there's no religion involved in this. It’s just sponsored by the center.

hi - this is the fourth seasonal screening for chicago anime hangouts! hope to watch fall seasonal anime, and see first impressions. just show up :D (we will be on the second floor, but ask for a meeting room/anime meetup at a reference desk if you're unclear on location - ill also try to usher people in as we get started)

please be respectful of the library as they want us to play videos on a lower volume (someone giving a presentation volume so still audible). we appreciate them allowing us to use their space.

the schedule is made using the assumption that shows are 25 min running, and buffering and tech difficulties don’t exist.

the library specified that food is allowed (eg bagels/donuts/munchkins/chips), but as long as it's not a full meal.

this is after an anime sampler we hold, and will hopefully have discussions about the summer season.

(we will be coming from Chicago Public Library, West Loop Branch - so some of us will be settled in their open seating. i’ll use chat to communicate with people to the right place)
