What we’re about

Chicago Vegan Book Circle – Exploring Ethics, Compassion, and Change

This isn’t a book club about recipes or diet plans. We’re here to dive deeper into the ethical and philosophical sides of veganism – the kinds of questions that push us to think critically and see things differently. Our focus is on books that explore animal rights, species justice, and the intersections of oppression, with space for open, personal conversations about what it all means.

ALL ARE WELCOME – no matter your lifestyle. If you’re curious, open-minded, or just want to understand veganism beyond the surface, this group is for you. The only ask is that during meetups, everyone orders vegan out of respect for the group’s purpose. We’ll meet at vegan-friendly restaurants and cafes around Chicago.

We’ll gather hopefully monthly to discuss book selections in a laid-back but thoughtful, nonjudgmental environment – fostering connections with others who are interested in exploring ideas about animal ethics.

Let’s read, reflect, and challenge the way we see our relationships with non-human animals – one book at a time.

Please note: This is designed to be an intimate experience, not a casual drop-in event. Out of respect for the group and our generous hosts, I reserve the right to remove members who no-show or who cancel their confirmed RSVP within 24 hours of the event starting. Thank you for your understanding.
