What we’re about
Let's get together for fun activities (dinner, drinks, trail runs and hikes, performances, you name it!) to meet other local women who are child-free*!
We're not anti-kid, we've just chosen a different path, and in the family-centric Boulder area it can feel like an isolating one sometimes. Let's celebrate the freedom that our lifestyle affords us together!
Addendum: If you choose to join our wonderful group, please know that I reserve the right to remove you if you display a pattern of no-showing or last-minute cancellations. When you sign up for an event and either bow out less than 48 hours in advance or simply don't bother to attend, you: 1) Take a spot someone else wanted, 2) negatively impact restaurants/bars/other establishments that set aside a predetermined number of spots for our group. Very uncool. Of course unexpected obstacles come up for all of us, but if flakiness is a pattern for you, I'll need to remove you for the sake of fairness to others. I hate having to say this, but the last few months have shown me that it's necessary.
*Please note that the women in this group have chosen not to have/raise children. This is not the group for you if your adult kids have moved out of the house and you’re looking to spend afternoon without the company of your friends’ toddlers.

See all- Live Music at The Velvet ElkNeeds location
Join me for a night of drinks and music at the Velvet Elk! The show starts at 8:00, and I'll be arriving early so I have time to settle in and chat with you all before the show starts!
Tickets are $24 and can be purchased here.
Full disclosure: I have never heard of the band (The Wildwoods) or their special guest (Bob Barick); here's what the Elk's website says about them:
The Wildwoods have become a force in the folk scene, boasting accolades like being finalists at the FreshGrass Music Festival Band competition and Gems on VHS "Gems in the Rough" competition in 2023. Their songwriting prowess is underscored by semi-final placements in the International Songwriting competition, with tracks like "Untitled" and "Way of Train." Recognized consistently at the Omaha Arts and Entertainment Awards, they were crowned "Best Band" by the Lincoln Journal Star’s Lincoln Choice Awards in 2022 In the heart of Lincoln, Nebraska, The Wildwoods emerge as a folk/Americana trio, a musical tapestry woven by husband-and-wife, Noah (guitar) and Chloe Gose (violin), alongside bassist Andrew Vaggalis. Their story is a symphony of exploration and connection, a journey that has taken them from the Midwest to international stages, carving out a unique place in the folk landscape. Their presence has graced stages alongside artists such as Mighty Poplar, Sierra Ferrell, Aiofe O’ Donovan, Melissa Carper, Jamie Wyatt and Joe Nichols at concerts and festivals like Summerfest, FreshGrass and the Oyster Ridge Music Festival.
Bob Barick is an American folk singer-songwriter known for his raw, authentic voice and captivating stage presence. His ability to command a crowd with only an acoustic guitar has drawn comparisons to modern troubadours like John Craigie and Langhorne Slim, whose reflective lyrics and intimate performances evoke a similar energy. Barrick has performed with or opened for artists including Willis Alan Ramsey, Keith Sykes, Brett Dennen, Josiah Johnson, Grahame Lesh, Saintseneca, and Joshua Lee Turner. He gained recognition from Jimmy Buffett after sharing a live cover of "A Pirate Looks At Forty" just a week before Buffett's passing. In 2024, Barrick released his first solo full-length album. Named for the creek that runs by his childhood home, “Little Cicero” tracks his course from humble roots as a preacher’s kid in Indiana to a restless search for purpose on stages across America.
