A delightful energetic walk in the Chiltern National Landscape (formerly AONB)
with stunning views starting from Lodge Hill NT free car park and heading for the highest viewpoint in the Chilterns and the Boer War Monument providing extensive views over the Aylesbury Vale. We then head for Beacon Hill skirting it but those wishing to burn off some extra pounds can climb up to the top! Continuing through some more stunning views of the surrounding countryside we head towards Chequers, country house of the Prime Minister, passing through the grounds for a stopover at Buckmoorend Farm cafe serving hot food and drinks. The walk continues in the enormous woods to follow the SBW and the Ridgeway back to the car park. A memorable walk.
Distance approx 7 miles, moderate with some steep sections, ascent 960ft.
We shall have a short lunch break so pls. bring packed lunch, snacks and water.
