THEME THIS WEEK: CANADIAN CHOCOLATE MAKERS (PART 1)
Dark chocolate made by Canadian chocolate makers
The chocolate will be made from various makers from around Canada, using cacao from various countries around the world. All the samples will be dark chocolate only (cacao, sugar, cocoa butter), but will have interesting flavour profiles because of the cocoa beans used. Various percentages. Ethically sourced (better than Fairtrade certified). This is part 1 because there are many makers to try, so I will host a few meetups with different Canadian makers/bars.
Dietary Information: No gluten, no nuts, no dairy, 100% plant-based (vegan). Note: I cannot guarantee no traces of the above mentioned. Some samples may be certified organic.
$10 per person (pay cash or e-transfer or card when you arrive). Includes: 4-5 samples, tasting guide, light refreshments. If you are having trouble joining, please contact me at info@beantobarworld.com to see if I can still get you in!

How the meetups of Chocolate For Geeks will work:
- First 30 minutes people can relax, mingle, read books, hang out, grab a cup of tea. no need to come right at noon.
- We may play a game or two before tasting.
- Geoseph will lead the tasting, and everyone will sample a range of bean-to-bar chocolates or products
- As a group we will taste, analyze, discuss the flavours (don't worry, it's not a test! and there are no right answers). Questions and feedback are encouraged!
Duration: First 30 minutes people arrive/mingle. Actual meetup will be about 60-75 minutes. People may linger afterwards for up to an hour or so just to socialize, hang out, enjoy refreshments. No rush to leave. Purchase bars if one wishes, but no purchases expected! Just come to have fun and relax.
Cancelling & Refunds: Pay when you arrive. If you need to cancel day of, please update your status or contact me so I can get more people in if we're full. I'm a reasonable guy, but if you cancel last minute too often or don't show up often without any notice you may be removed from the group.
Who can join?
Anyone! You could be in love with chocolate, just curious about all this. Those who enjoy it tend to be open to new foods, new perceptions, and be very curious to learn about food. It is intended to be a social, but if you're on the shy side know that you can be social in whatever way is comfortable for you. There will be big group discussion, small group discussion, etc.
Host & Purpose Of Event
I've recently moved back to the GTA after years out West where I hosted various bean-to-bar events and meetups. I have been in the fine chocolate world for nearly 20 years. I wish to restart the meetups here at my tasting room in Mississauga.
The purpose of these meetups is simply a space for people to learn more deeply about chocolate, socialize with like-minded people, and have a relaxing and enjoyable time. Learn more about me at geoseph.com and beantobarworld.com and don't hesitate to reach out with questions!
