The first segment of this workshop will introduce you to the fascinating world of Ultra Violet (UVIV) photography. Ultra Violet light, commonly referred to as black light, causes certain objects to fluoresce, revealing stunning colors not visible under normal lighting. During this session, we will photograph a variety of beautiful flowers and other objects that glow vibrantly under UV light. Professional-grade UV flashlights will be provided to illuminate the scene, along with flowers and minerals that emit vivid colors when exposed to UV light. Participants are encouraged to use a camera equipped with a standard lens, such as a 24-70mm, or a slightly longer lens. A tripod is essential, as UV light is relatively dim, and a remote shutter release is strongly recommended to ensure steady, long-exposure shots. Exposure times may extend up to ten seconds.

The second part of the workshop will focus on unleashing your creativity to craft imaginative compositions featuring miniature figures. Picture a winter scene with skiers and children spilling out of a salt shaker, with the salt acting as snow—this is just one of the countless scenes you can bring to life. We will provide a wide selection of hundreds of miniature figures, along with a variety of props to help set the scene. For inspiration, refer to the link below showcasing examples of this unique genre of photography. To participate in this portion of the workshop, you will need a camera with a macro lens, or a smartphone with macro capabilities. Note that every iPhone 12 and newer model is equipped with macro shooting capabilities.
