What we’re about

FACEBOOK
Welcome to the Dallas Modern Quilt Guild!
Our mission is to promote the art of modern quilting in the Dallas area. We offer educational demonstrations/workshops, swap and challenge opportunities, and charitable community outreach.
Membership is open to quilters of all skill levels and we pride ourselves in creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere for new and experienced quilters alike. We are a nonprofit organization and a branch of The Modern Quilt Guild.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
Our monthly meetings are held the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 pm at Walnut Hill United Methodist Church, 10066 Marsh Lane, Dallas, TX 75229.  Social time begin at 6:30.  The church is located on Marsh Lane just north of Walnut Hill Lane.  Each meeting focuses on a new topic with a different swap, presentation, demonstration, or challenge.
Due to the holidays, we do not meet in November.  The December meeting is held earlier in the month, usually the second Thursday.  Please look for details posted on our home page of Meetup.
SATURDAY SEWS
What could be more fun than quilting with friends? We have cutting and ironing stations as well as large work spaces ready for you! Just bring your project and machine! Saturday Sew dates are posted on Meetup.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
We support several local charities by providing them with quilts made by our members. In addition to finished lap-size quilts and quilt tops, we also accept donations of batting, fabric, backings, and quilting services.  Please contact our Community Service Chair, Sherry Lundswick, for more information.
RETREATS
Members enjoy a little piece of heaven when they attend our bi-annual retreats!  They give us the chance to build camaraderie, learn from each other, and strengthen our friendships!  Quilting + friendship = too much fun!!!!  Two of our retreats are overnight getaways, but if you prefer to sleep in your own bed, we also have two weekend retreats at a local retreat center.
Retreats are a perfect time to finish those UFOs [unfinished objects], special projects, and community service lap quilts. Spaces are limited and fill up quickly. DMQG members receive priority reservations. For more information on our retreats, please contact our Retreat Coordinator, Susan Hogan.
