DC Gaming Group (DCGG) is a club organization created to foster connections within the DMV gaming community. Together, we can explore new games, support independent game developers, and check out local events.

Our goal is to bring folks with different gaming preferences together in the same community. Whether you like single player adventures, fighters, shooters, or sports games, we provide a community where you can share your passion with other gamers.

What is Speed Dm-ing?
Speed DM-ing is the opportunity to meet other DnD fans in the area, form parties for mini adventures and games, and find a DM that matches your play style!This event has Two Sign Up methods -- one for Players and one for DMs

New players are welcome! If you are a person interested in playing DnD, this event is your opportunity to learn a bit about DnD and how to play, as well as meet other players and find a DM that suits your play style!

If you are a new or established DM, this is a place to meet potential players and run a one shot to see how y'all vibe. You will also have the opportunity to pitch longer campaigns.
Before you arrive:
- For Players - We will provide your character sheets, but bring a writing utensil, an open mind, and a love of adventure. Most DMs run Dungeons and Dragons, but some also run other systems which are just as fun.
- For DMs: To show off your amazing game host skills bring a one-page dungeon to run.
- Ideally should be a max 3.5-hour game, so it can be completed before Fat Pete's kicks us out.
- DCGG will provide players 2nd-level Wizards of the Coast official pre-generated characters. (You can assign some extra hit points to make players less squishy if you like!)
Day of Agenda:
7:00–7:15: Feast and Introductions - Order food and find a seat. What is DnD, and why are all these people obsessed with it???
7:15–7:30: DM pitches - DMs will tell us why they’re a great game master and pitch the one-page dungeon or the game they brought to the adoring crowd. DMs will speak to the survey that was distributed prior to the event to discuss what kind of game they like to run.
7:30–Close: Form groups and play! DMs and players will create groups to play through the one-page dungeons or tabletop games, exchange contact information, and discuss future DnD endeavors.
Why play DnD with the DC Gaming Group?
- Community – DMs and players have special channels in the DCGG discord to support each other with all things Dnd from character leveling to building encounters for your players.
- Dedicated in-person space - We have our own tavern! DnD with DCGG means you have access to Fat Petes on Tuesdays and Wednesday to play.
- Standards - DC Gaming Group is dedicated to valuing the player over the points. Our Community Tenets and Code of Conduct are in place to provide a universal standard of respectful, inclusive play.
What if we don’t have enough DMs for speed DM-ing?
It has happened where DMs have dropped last minute and so it was not possible to get every player into a game. If that happens, the host will look for volunteers to run a supplied One-Page Dungeon, or play a different Dnd themed table top game. We’ll still have a great evening at the tavern with DnD gossip and tabletop games. Speed Dm-ing is a recurring event every couple months, so fresh DMs can pitch their games at the next event. Players who are not able to get into a game get early access to the next event.It is super important to change your RSVP if you cannot attend. This is a popular event and if you cannot attend please give up your seat so others can play. We can have up to 5 DMs and 30 players. Only guests with a “Going” rsvp on meetup will have a spot.
