Hello readers! Drop in and discuss contemporary fiction by diverse authors over dinner in downtown DC. Membership is fluid and mostly 30s, 40s, 50s. So if you are new in town or in DC for only a short time -come and say hello! We are a super casual & welcoming assortment of professionals and readers from various backgrounds, ethnicities, nationalities, sizes, gender identities, sexual orientations, neurotypes, abilities, religions and political views. All are welcome & respected. Neither host pretends to have training in English Lit but we do our homework, ask probing questions, and guide a discussion where everyone gets to speak. We choose titles that are a pleasure to read and feed our restless minds.
Usually the meetup is the third Wednesday each month. We do introductions and order food & drinks during the first 15 minutes so please be prompt. Then relax and discuss one book for most of the meeting. If there is time we share our own current reads and vote on upcoming titles. The scene is super casual, reasonably priced restaurants, and separate checks, of course! Be courteous - update your RSVP! The simple pleasure of meeting unique people and hearing their thoughts on a good book keeps us coming out. Come join!
