Discover Egypt

I am starting this group for those who dream of seeing Egypt and want to go there at "Egyptian prices" vs "Western prices". I was born & raised in Egypt and moved to the US at the age of nine years old. I've lived in the US 50 years but go back to Egypt often. I recently retired in Florida and in 2023 planned a trip to Egypt and many of my friends in my yacht club found out I had a 2 week trip planned. When I shared my itinerary and cost with them, they were shocked how affordable Egypt was. I told them I was not doing a "package tour" from a US or European tour company, and instead planned the trip myself using local guides. Our 14 day trip cost about $2500 plus international flights. A typical 14 day trip to Egypt from most US & European tour operators is $5000 to $7000 per person. I ended up going to Egypt with 41 friends from our yacht club. It was an amazing trip and so much fun to have so that many people go back home to visit with me. But more important, they all came back saying it was the trip of a lifetime. We stayed in 5 star hotels, saw all that Egypt has to offer for half the price of what most commercial tour operators normally charge. BUT....we also avoided all the tourist traps and hassles that I know about. I recently retired, I love visiting Egypt and sharing my home country with others, and decided why not not start a group to see if I can repeat that experience again. The trip I planned with my friends hit all the main highlights; Cairo, the Pyramids, Museums, Luxor's valley of the Kings, Aswan & Abu Symbol, a 3 day Nile Cruise, and the Red Sea. We stayed in top hotels, had 4 domestic interior flights, many accommodations included meals & tips, we had guided tours & transportation on 10 out of the 14 days, and it cost only around $2500. The only exclusion was international travel which at the time was $950 round trip out of Miami. The final price was less then half of what a trip like this would cost from a commercial tour company. The reason I'm creating this group is because I'm retired and have time on my hands. More importantly I want to share with as many people as possible what an amazing experience it is to travel to Egypt and enjoy the hospitality Egypt has to offer. I know things in the middle east are "turbulent" however Egypt is far away from the current conflicts in the middle east. we flew European airlines, and the single most valuable commodity if Egypt is hard currency & tourism. In fact, I am leaving for Egypt this Sept 2024 for a 10 day trip and have no fears. If you're interested in visiting Egypt in a way where most of your money won't go to the tour sales agent, join this group. I want to share my knowledge with you and would be happy to accompany another large group in 2025 to go visit where I was born. This is NOT a for profit venture or group. It is solely my effort to allow more people to experience Egypt with someone born there and wants to share how to experience Egypt at prices you should really pay so that all your money goes to local vendors. If you live in Florida (I live in Stuart), we will book travel from Miami, however if you are "remote" and wish to join, you can book your own international travel since any prices I negotiate with local Egypt operators will exclude international travel.
