A Home for Life's Wanderers After Divorce
So… divorce. Not exactly what you put on your vision board, right? Whether it was a sudden detour or a long time coming, finding yourself on the other side of "happily ever after" can feel a bit like wandering into uncharted territory — suddenly face-to-face with questions we never planned to ask.
Divorcee Café is here for that part of the journey. We’re a welcoming, inclusive community for anyone navigating the strange and tender terrain after a relationship ends. Whether you’re craving friendship, healing, perspective, or just a reason to put on real pants and leave the house — we’ve got a spot for you. All genders, orientations, and backgrounds are welcome. Our events range from cozy conversations to playful gatherings—designed to remind you that you're not the only one figuring things out. You’re not too late. You’re not too much. And you’re definitely not alone.
We believe life after divorce isn’t the end of your story—it’s just a new chapter. One where you get to rediscover who you are, what you want, and how to enjoy your own company again (yes, even on a Sunday night with nothing but a blanket and leftovers). Through connection, conversation, and shared experiences, we help each other figure out what comes next—with a little humor, a lot of empathy, and maybe some strong coffee.
And if you’ve got a creative itch—maybe you’re curious about learning guitar, writing that story you've been sitting on, or just want a community of fellow artistic weirdos—check out our sister group, Wandering Bards. It’s a cozy corner of the world for people who want to write, play music, make art, or simply express themselves after a big life change. Because sometimes the best way to heal is to create something new.
This path may be unfamiliar, but you don’t have to walk it alone. Grab your metaphorical walking stick and let’s wander together.

- Community Room A (turn left at the front desk, down the hall past the restrooms)If you’ve been feeling the pull to reconnect with yourself—or just try something different—this beginner-friendly guitar night might be the perfect spark. I’ll be guiding the lesson myself—I’ve been teaching guitar for years and love helping people find joy in music, even if they're just starting out. This group is all about learning at your own pace, with zero pressure and lots of encouragement.
This month, we’ll be learning Last Kiss by Pearl Jam—simple chords, heartfelt melody, and a great choice even if it’s your first time holding a guitar. You’ll leave knowing a full song, with a few laughs and maybe even a few new friends.
This event is co-hosted by the Wandering Bards Meetup, and is part of a new Divorcee Cafe series called The Better Me—a collection of experiences designed to help us explore new interests, build confidence, and find joy in growth. Think less self-help, more self-reconnection.
Bring your acoustic guitar (or an electric with a small amp) and an open mind. We’ll close with a casual jam session, then grab some food nearby to keep the vibe going.

### 💙 DATE NIGHT WITH MYSELF 💙
An invitation to treat yourself the way you deserve.
One of the things I’ve been working on in my own healing is learning to give myself the same care, love, and attention that I used to pour into my relationships. It’s easy to rely on others to make you feel valued, wanted, and secure. But now I'm working on giving that to myself. This is your monthly invitation to take yourself on a date—no meetups, no pressure, just you showing up for you. Instead of waiting for someone else to make life special, let’s learn to do that for ourselves.
✨ Here’s how it works:
- Do something special for yourself, just like you would for a partner.
- Share your experience in the group if you’d like! Post a photo, a thought, or a moment from your night.
- Check out these videos from Heidi Priebe on building a healthy relationship with yourself and How To Love Yourself When It Feels Hard To
🌿 Ideas for Your Date Night:
- 🍽️ Take yourself to dinner (or make something fancy at home!)
- 📖 Read a book at a cozy café
- 🎨 Create something—paint, write, or play music
- 🛁 Have a self-care spa night
- 🚶♀️ Go on a sunset walk and reflect
- 🎶 Play your favorite music and dance around the house
- ✍️ Write a letter to your future self
- 🎬 Have a cozy movie night—but only if you do it with intention. Set it up the way you would for a partner: favorite snacks, comfy blankets, no guilt, no multitasking. Just a night to truly let yourself relax.
Why does this help?
I used to hear about self-care as if it were just just about bubble baths, mantras and meditation. But the real work? It’s learning to feel safe and loved in your own presence. It’s realizing you don’t need to wait for someone else to make you feel validated—you can give that validation to yourself.*Looking for a creative outlet?
