What we’re about
Not a book club! A group for readers who want to meet up and talk about what they’re reading. No prescribed reading list, no need to have finished the book. Just a chance to talk about whatever it is you’re reading at the moment.
What’s on your bedside table right now? What perennial favorite are you re-reading? What everyone’s-raving-about title are you considering picking up next?
Bring the book with you if you can (giving big Show and Tell vibes), rave about what’s great, bemoan the weaknesses, share a passage or two if you’re extra generous—and enjoy the company of other readers reading other books.

See all- Film Adaptation: WildLindsey’s house, Durham , NC
After a series of dark and/or heavy film adaptations, we’re heading in a different direction and getting a little fresh air. Let’s check out the film adaptation of Wild by Cheryl Strayed.
Cheryl Strayed's 2012 memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail chronicles her 1,100-mile solo hike as a journey of self-discovery after losing her mother to cancer. With no prior backpacking experience, Strayed sets out on the West Coast trail, facing physical challenges like hunger, injury, and bad weather, as well as emotional struggles like loneliness and grief.

We will watch the movie together, so make sure to read (or listen to) the book beforehand. It seems like there is pretty decent availability at the local libraries. And the audiobook is available on both Libby and Spotify.
You know the drill: I will host the event in my home, so space is limited. Please treat your RSVP as a commitment and if you cannot come, update accordingly.
> ALSO - be aware that attendance for movie events in my home is restricted to members who have previously attended at least one Meetup or movie event with our group.
Note that the address listed is a nearby placeholder, NOT MY ACTUAL ADDRESS. Exact location will be sent to those who will attend a few days before the event.
