What we’re about
Come be a part of our amazing events—fun, engaging, and welcoming for everyone! We're dedicated to building a supportive, sober community where lasting friendships flourish.
With our diverse range of activities, there's always something exciting to enjoy! From non-alcoholic happy hours, picnics, and board game afternoons to crafting, walks, hikes, dancing, brunches, yoga, wellness seminars, tarot readings, movie nights, and beyond—we’ve got something for everyone.
We welcome everyone curious about the sober lifestyle, whether you are damp (drink sometimes), dry (no alcohol, maybe recreational drugs), or sober (in recovery, or sobriety; no alcohol or drugs). Our ethos is centered around breaking the stigma of not drinking socially and providing supportive alternatives for those choosing to abstain, whether temporarily or long-term, for any reason. We’re not here to dictate what’s best for you when it comes to alcohol; instead, we offer a safe, judgment-free space to explore sobriety on your terms.
If you're nervous about coming alone and not knowing anyone, please don't be, our meetups are always lots of fun, and everyone is friendly and supportive. We are all in the same boat and it doesn't take long to feel relaxed once you start chatting. We can't wait to meet you all!

For nonalcoholic drink recipe suggestions follow the Zero Proof Happy Hour YouTube Channel below.
We welcome your suggestions about the kind of events that you would like to attend and anyone that would like to co-host an event please contact the Leadership team. Our events are located in the cities of Oakland, Alameda, Berkeley, Albany, Richmond, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and San Francisco.
Rules of the group:
If you do not visit us within 6 months, you will be automatically declined from this meetup group. We are interested in active members only at this time. The option to rejoin will be offered once, and if within another 6 months, you have not participated in an event you will be declined permanently.
After three no-shows you will be declined membership. When you RSVP and cannot make the event, please move yourself to "No" as a courtesy for anyone who might be on the waiting list, and also so that the group isn't expecting you. Marking yourself as "Not Going" after the RSVP end time has lapsed will count as a No-Show, please be conscious of the time and effort it takes to organize these volunteer-run events. If you think that you are a "Maybe" ask to be added to a waitlist.
A profile photo showing your face is required when you sign up, no scammers, robots, or fake accounts please!
Be respectful, and kind, and do your best. Be true to your word, don't make assumptions, and try not to take things personally without all the facts. If you are having an issue with another member bring it up to the Event Host to have it resolved at that moment. Those who continue to be disruptive and harmful to others will be declined membership. Members participating in our events must be respectful in interactions with people and in content posted on the platform.
We are not a dating group, and though we recognize members will make their own connections, it's not the focus of this meetup.
Please do not solicit members for your own business. If you have an idea for a workshop or informational meetup bring it up with the Organizer to create a separate event.
The Organizers in this group are volunteers. Our Organizers are neither professional guides nor do they have special training or qualifications. The organizer is not trained for emergency medical procedures and no doctors, nurses, or ambulances are provided on the hikes. The sole role of the organizer is to organize the event. Think of them as friends hiking in a group with you. They are not responsible for your safety or actions or anyone else’s. They are not responsible for any incident during the event. They are not responsible for carpool arrangements to the Meetups or incidents during carpools. Each person who signs up for an event is responsible for their safety.
