What we’re about

What we're about
Thank you to the NW Tulip Trekkers for hosting walks for 48 years in the NW Region of our beautiful state. The club has now closed.

The WA State Volkssport Association (ESVA) is now hosting these 22 beautiful events.
ESVA and Olympic Peninsula Explorers have walked for over 40 years and shares the vision of the American’s Walking Club  (AVA), Evergreen State Volkssport Association (ESVA), and International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV).
On our group walks: At every walk, upon arriving at the start point, you will be required to register. You will be signing a liability waiver (a disclaimer), as our club cannot accept responsibility for any injuries or other harms you might incur during the walk.
Show up and be ready to walk at the posted time. We need to register for each walk at the start location, so allow for that. It's important to join the group. This gives you reminders, changes and cancellations.
*** Join us - RAIN OR SHINE - for "Fun, Fitness, and Friendship". *** Evergreen State Volkssport Assocation and Olympic Peninsula Explorers are outdoor walking clubs. We welcome newcomers. Come walk the NW corner of Washington with us.

Evergreen State Volkssport Association is now hosting the 22 walks in Skagit and Whatcom Counties.
The Olympic Peninsula Explorers host 23 YR events for your walking enjoyment in Kitsap and Clallam County.
Walking at a moderate pace without interruption, most people can expect to complete a 10 km walk in about 2 and a half hours and a 5 km walk in approximately 1- and one-half hours or you can take as long as you want.   Anyone is welcome to join our walks and hopefully become interested in participating in our clubs

IVV credit is $4.00 per walk depending on club
Donations are appreciated to offset costs.

ESVA and OPE are designed for AVA-member walkers, and for individuals and families who just want to walk for fun and fitness.
Most walks are dog friendly (with leash and cleanup, of course).
If you love to walk, you'll love to walk with us.
