What we’re about
This is a beginner's golf group for women to enjoy the game and socialize with other players. Have you taken lessons and are ready to try out a course? Just getting back into golf or have played a few times and want to learn more? This group’s for you!
We meet once a week, every Tuesday (May-Oct) at the Par 3 nine hole Short Beach Golf Course in Stratford, CT. Tee times vary from 4pm-6pm and you select your time.
This is a very approachable course with some challenging aspects to build up your game. You'll experience all of the golf shots involved in the game and develop your skills along the way, just on a shorter course.
If you are brand new to golf, a few group lessons to learn the fundamentals and a trip to the driving range is a good way to prepare for joining us on the course. There are several options in the area and we can help connect you.
We are passionate about golf and want to pay it forward by helping other women get into the game. It's truly a lifelong activity; being outdoors, golfing, and enjoying the game with other people is really something special.
During weekly play we will share with you:
- Golf etiquette and the rules
- The basics about navigating a course
- How to practice and improve
We offer one free event for you to attend then the fee to join is $25 annually. This helps pay for meetup costs, new member gifts and special events we sponsor for the group.
The cost to play a round is $20 and due at time of RSVP. We arrange the tee times, so we ask you to prepay to reserve your spot, 'no shows' are not refunded unless weather cancellation. Each tee time is limited to (4) spots. You can pay using Venmo or Zelle - details provided in event listing.
The course is flat and short - easy to walk. You can bring your pull cart, or rent for $5.00 (credit card only.) Otherwise, you can carry your bag so keep your bag weight light.
What you will need:
•Golf bag & clubs, golf glove, balls, tees, and a ball marker
•Athletic/Casual wear (not beach attire and no jeans, please)
•Sneakers or golf shoes
•water bottle, hat & sunglasses, sunscreen & bug spray
It's cooler at the beach. We recommend you always have a lightweight jacket too.
We welcome any and all questions! Come on out and enjoy the weather and get your golf on!
