Kristy Shen retired with a million dollars at the age of thirty-one, and she did it without hitting a home run on the stock market, starting the next Snapchat in her garage, or investing in hot real estate.
According to the book blurb:
"Learn how to cut down on spending without decreasing your quality of life, build a million-dollar portfolio, fortify your investments to survive bear markets and black-swan events, and use the 4 percent rule and the Yield Shield - so you can quit the rat race forever."
This should be an interesting read, because it's written from a different viewpoint than our last two books, and she weaves her personal story into her financial advice.
WHAT TO READ
There is only one edition, published in 2019. It's around 330 pages so we should be able to cover the entire book.
SOME GENERAL RULES FOR THIS BOOK CLUB:
SAFE ENVIRONMENT
Personal finance can be a difficult subject for some people to discuss, so please be kind and courteous. You’re also not expected to participate in the discussion, but everyone has unique opinions and life experiences – and we think yours are as valuable as anyone else’s!
