What’s the group about and who should join: How would you feel about a federal political party that is economically center-left leaning (moderate spending like Jean Chretien on jobs and public services) but culturally center-right leaning (tough on woke ideology), and for low immigration. Compared to other countries and polls, it turns out that such a party in Canada would be a contender. This group is for people interested in politics and interested in helping to potentially develop a new political party. 61% of Canadians polled agree immigration levels should be lowered from current highs (only 5% of Canadians want higher immigration). But none of the biggest political parties have committed publicly that we know of to substantially lowering immigration levels. So, what do we do? Let’s meetup and chart a way forward. We are starting with Ottawa but we will probably later have groups across Canada, so if you are from somewhere else in Canada you can still join this Ottawa group in the meantime. We need people who can volunteer, or donate, so that we can collect 250 signatures for Elections Canada. Does this party have a name, platform or candidates? Not yet. It’s just at the idea stage.
