The group is born out of an unforgettable experience at the Porcupine Tree concert earlier this year. That event ignited my love for live music, and I am planning to attend upcoming rock music concerts in Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds etc. The lineup is looking amazing next year with bands like Pendulum, Fall Out Boy, The Maine, Simple Plan etc. This group is an open invitation to anyone who shares a passion for music and interested in exploring the concert scene in 2024. Goal is also to connect people who share a genuine love for attending concerts, fostering a space for camaraderie, shared experiences, and the pure joy of live music. We attend concerts together, chat about upcoming shows, share playlists and create unforgettable memories. // This is my very first attempt to create a group on this platform. Not sure if this will get enough attention to attract members or maybe you will only find it if you were searching for something like this haha.

I’ve started this group with the aim of bringing people together for social activities, group days out, nights around town and other activities as people see fit to suggest. I’d like to welcome anyone and everyone. You don’t have to be an extrovert to come and join us just bring a smile !

Hello Everyone, my name is Adam and I've been the organiser of this welcoming and friendly social group since June 2023 with the goal of making it very popular. It is for anyone based in Barnsley and the surrounding areas aged 20 and above that’s interested in making new friends. I used to feel that Barnsley was lacking in a proper regular Meetup group which is why I decided to set up one up to change that. There also isn’t a maximum age limit in this group which you will all be very pleased to know 😊 THE GROUP RULES : There is only a few ground rules that everyone should know about. 1 , Firstly anyone joining the group needs to have a clear face picture of themselves that was taken recently, so no blank profiles or inappropriate images please. 2\. Secondly I politely ask people to update your attendance accordingly within a few hours of each meeting just out of courtesy if you can’t make it for whatever reason\. I always try to be flexible whenever I can \, only if someone has failed to show up without any communication 4 times in a row will I have to consider removing them\. However if in the unlikely event that does happen \, they will have the option to rejoin again after 6 months \( 180 Days \) has passed\. 3\. Please keep communication as mutual and respectful as possible\, try not to private message people you haven’t met before in the WhatsApp group unless you have consent to do so first \. If anyone feels they are being bothered too much by someone they don’t know at all\, let me know and I’ll deal with it promptly\. This group offers a wide variety of activities such as restaurants meals , open air festivals , the cinema 🎦 , ten pin bowling 🎳 , afternoon walks, stand up comedy nights , coach trips and even days out on the train 🚆 to other towns and cities. Usually about 3 or 4 events are held each month including an afternoon coffee ☕️ meeting on the first Sunday of each month and our well attended Pub drinks 🍷 social evening on the last weekend of each month. It’s all about having a good laugh, relaxing and living in the moment and enjoying ourselves . Plus there is no membership fee requirement to join like some groups have. If any particular event doesn’t get much interest or less than 4 people attending , then it will usually have to be either cancelled or rescheduled to a later time. There is also an active WhatsApp group available for regulars who wish to stay connected with each other outside of events , so if anyone feels this group is right for them feel free to send a join request and see what happens, or just message me with any questions you have and I’ll reply to you soon as possible, thanks for reading ! 🙂

Robin Hood Meetup is a fun and friendly group full of people who want to meetup for regular activities. If you have just moved to the area and want to meet new people, or are just looking to expand your circle of friends, then this group is for you!

We host a selection of events including; eating out, trips to the cinema/theatre, live music events, local walks, pub quizzes, social drinks, as well as other activities that members suggest. 

Events are mainly held within the 'DN' postcode and neighbouring areas, covering Doncaster to North Nottinghamshire, but occasionally venture further afield.

Should you wish to join us simply RSVP to to the events we post. Please keep your RSVP up-to-date, it's only polite and it means the event hosts aren't wasting their time searching for missing people.  

Please feel free to use the Discussion Board or Suggest a Meetup feature if there is somewhere you are going, or would like to go to, that you think others may be interested in. 

As a group we do not charge a membership fee, but we obviously have to cover the cost of the website. All we ask is that each member makes a voluntary contribution at event they attend to go towards the cost of the website.

Please note that if you attend events, you are responsible for looking after yourself and your own well-being. The group organisers cannot be responsible for you.

Names and Profile Pictures: This group is all about making new friends. To help members identify who is who please sign up using your real name (no aliases) with a clear head shot of you as your profile picture (no pets or cartoons please). There are over 100 members in this group and its hard to recall everyone especially if you are new.  A clear profile picture also allows us to be able to identify new members when they attend their first meet up.

Inactive members (those who haven't visited the group page in the past 3 months) will be removed from the group as we'll presume they are no longer interested in attending any of the group events. However, if you are removed and you do want to see upcoming events you are more than welcome to re-join.

No shows: If you fail to show up to a meetup that you have RSVP's to attend you will be marked as a 'no show'. We operate a '3 no shows and you're out' policy.

You are sure to fit in as we have continuous good feedback from existing members of how welcome and included they are made to feel by everyone. This group is for people who chose not to be parents and don't have to orient their lives around children or young people. We are treated differently by society, our choices often questioned and patronised: "Why?? You'll change your mind someday" "won't you regret not having kids?" "who will take care of you when you're old" etc etc. If you have kids or your partner has kids, or your kids are now adults, you're not going to experience those things so this group won't be right for you.
