This is a relaxed meet up group for people who’d like to meet up, socialise and take part in chilled activities during the day on weekdays. Activities will be anything from a tea, or a coffee at a beachside cafe, to live music at lunchtime. There’ll also be short walks in nature, photography, art and drawing. We are a member led group, aiming to help you make new friends and improve your social life. Welcoming active, 40+ Singles throughout the Southwest, with branches in Exeter, Weston and Wells & Mendip. Each branch will have a regular drop in session, where we socialise and plan future events. Exeter Branch meets weekly on Tuesday at 7.30pm. Wells and Mendip Branch also meet on Tuesdays, alternating between afternoon coffee or evening. Weston meets on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday. For people who would like to go out walking. Walks will generally be between 3 and 8 miles, and will be possible to get to by public transport. A chance to meet new people whilst exploring Exeter and the surrounding area. Members taking part in walks do so at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. This is a meet up group for genuine, friendly and professional people of all ages that enjoy meeting regularly around Exeter, Devon to chat over a meal, coffee or similar social event at favourite and new venues and out and about, which I hope we can enjoy finding together. In this private group, members need to be active by keeping in touch with RSVPs, updating them promptly with 48 hours notice of changes, participating regularly to enjoy meeting at events within 6 months, paying their own bills please and avoiding no shows.  New members will need to pay the current £6 membership fee for a year and hopefully longer if enough new joiners grow the group to cover the 6 monthly group subscription, but otherwise renewal may be needed. Non active or disrespectful members will also have their status reviewed accordingly, to maintain a safe and positive group experience, so please apply to join in regularly with respect for others ensuring the group maintains positivity and growth for our continued enjoyment. Moments of Mindfulness started running drop in sessions at the Barn, Highfield Farm in March 2016. Since then we have started to build a small group of regulars who come every fortnight. Those who come range from newcomers to mindfulness and meditation, wanting to check out what it's about, through those who have may have completed a MBSR/MBCT mindfulness courses, to people who have practiced for years. What we all have in common is the knowledge that whilst mindfulness meditation is simple, it is not easy, and anyways it is much nicer and easier to practice as part of a friendly group. There's only one rule - you are only allowed to speak FRENCH! :-) (no English permitted ;-)) **Frequently asked question: "I am a beginner - is this suitable for me?"** I often get asked this question, so I thought it would be best to put this in the group description. We don't do any teaching, it's a ‘practice what you know’ type meeting. The level of the group all depends on who turns up on the day, I often get some super fluent people/natives, one or two beginners, and many different levels in-between. Some beginners are happy to sit and listen and try to pick things up, others find it frustrating if the conversation level is too high on the day and find the meeting unsuitable. I would say the best thing to do would be to come along for an hour or so and just see if you enjoy it/find it helpful. I would say if you have never done any French, e.g. lessons, or learnt on the go in a French speaking country, then you would need some lessons too or you may be a bit lost.
