We are a Branch of The Oddfellows, one of the largest and oldest friendly societies in the UK. This group is open to people of all backgrounds, ages and beliefs.* Contemplative practice (also known as meditation or silent prayer) refers to the spiritual art of turning to the sacred within, through the disciplines of stillness and awareness. Through these simple practices we may be liberated from the resistances and self-orientated habits that veil the sacred. Even after committing to the practice for a short period of time, people regularly report that they experience greater peace, improved relationships and a more conscious connection to God. A growing number of people from all walks of life gather together via Zoom every Saturday between 08:30 – 09:30 (UK time) and every Wednesday between 20:00 - 20:40 (UK time). You're warmly welcome to either or both! Each session is free of charge and includes a short teaching, some simple guidelines and a 25 minute period of silent meditation.  At the end, we have time for conversation and shared exploration of any questions that may arise. Welcome to Cotswold Adventures Outdoors. Over the past 6 months, this group has grown and developed into what it is now—previously known as North Gloucestershire and Severn Solo Adventurers. The core members feel that the name needs to represent the group and not be so confusing. The group's aim is to provide friendship and community, whilst having fun outdoors. Please ensure you have a Personal Floatation Device or **Buoyancy Aid**. 2\. All paddlers are recommended to have a **quick-release waste strap** for fast flowing water. 3\. Please bring with you a **change of clothes**. 4. **Shoes** are recommended for paddling as rivers and banks can have **sharp objects** even **needles** occasionally. 5\. Recomend the use of a **dry bag** for your possessions. 6. **A helmet** is required when SUPing on dangerous fast-flowing shallow rivers with rocks 7\. In colder months **wetsuit**, **thermal wet gear,** and layers are highly recommended

Band Buddies is a fan-based group whose concept is to bring together people interested in seeing live original music, across all genres and music tastes. This is an open group for all its members, if you spot a band playing that you want to see or if you're a musician yourself and want to let us know about an original music performance from yourself or your band then get in touch with an Organiser to discuss adding it to our schedule of Meetups. Uncover a mutual love of music, meet new friends and discover new bands too!

This is a group for ladies (suggested age group 40+) who wish to meet new people and make new friends.  Anyone can be an event organiser, even if it's just for a one-off event so if anyone has any ideas for future meetups and would be prepared to organise and host the occasional event, don't be shy. I need your input and some willing volunteers...let's start filling our calendar! You do not have to divulge your surname when joining this group. However, please do provide your real name and not some nickname or user name that you might use on other websites. A profile photo of you rather than some random picture is helpful too so that we can look out for you when you venture out to your first Meetup event.  **Membership Fees** The half yearly membership fee is £5. A book club on Thursdays. Bring a book you love that you'd love to talk about. We will go round and hear about everyones books, and if you'd like to swap it for someone else's we could do that too (optional). All books types are welcome, anything that you connected with, found inspiring, hilarious, surprising, or gripping, or anything else. We hope it will be a great way to meet new friends who also love books, and get some inspiration for new reads too. Whether you're a seasoned reader or just getting into the world of literature, our club provides a welcoming space for engaging conversations, lively debates, and plenty of book recommendations. Join us every other Thursday to explore different genres, authors, and themes as we dive deep into the wonderful world of books.

Explore Cheltenham! (30-45). Plan is to have a monthly meetup which will most likely be at a pub in Cheltenham (over the winter). Once the weather warms up in spring time hoping to have one or two easy walks and coffee shop visits in nice places around Cheltenham (e.g Winchcombe, Cirencester, Bourton). We are a social group of walkers who enjoy the countryside primarily on Sundays with a few summer midweek outings. Our walks are generally 4 - 7 miles and rated at an easy to moderate level - the detail is spelled out in each meetup description. Our walks are moderately paced. We welcome everyone who considers themselves to be single and pride ourselves in offering a warm welcome to all newbies. Well behaved dogs are welcome but are the responsibility of their owners. You are advised to bring a bottle of water, appropriate clothing and footwear for the conditions. Bring a snack or picnic for the midpoint stop - we do also dally occasionally to allow for photographs or to admire the view. Afterwards we tend to adjourn to a local hostelry for a drink and/or food which is entirely optional. 

The emphasis is on having a pleasant day out, visiting interesting and beautiful places, meeting people and making friends rather than conquering summits or getting from A to B as quickly as possible. WOW, have a wonderful day out, meet new friends, share a joke and a laugh.

We ask for a small donation of £2 towards the website Fees and the Organisers expenses in planning the Walk, each time that you walk with us. The walk leader will always have recently walked over the route.

When you book on a Walk and are unable to attend, please change your RSVP on the site to free the place for another Walker or send the walk leader a text message on the day. The walk will proceed shortly after the published time and will not wait unless a message is received that you are in the vicinity when we will wait for a few minutes.

Most of our Walkers are in the age range of 40/50/60's.

Welcome to the Cheltenham Lesbian and Bisexual women’s Meetup group. This group is aimed at Lesbians and Bisexual women who are looking to socialise and meet new people in and around the Cheltenham area. I'm hoping to post a couple of events a month to begin with while the group is still quite new. I am also open to suggestions re. venues and events for future Meetups. Please bear with me while the group gets into its flow! :) There isn't a fee to join the Meetup group per se but there will be a £2 attendance fee for each event you attend, to cover admin costs. This is a group for those in their 20s/30s wanting to make new friends and socialise in the Gloucester area. Everyone has their first event where they don't know anyone, so we will try to introduce you to people and try to make you feel included. If you ever get stuck on your own, come and talk to us.
