Solent Friends

Lee-on-the-Solent, F2

Solent Friends
New to the area, or just looking to expand your circle of friends? This group could be a great place to start. Life events can make it difficult to have a social life and when you do eventually have the time to have one it can be hard to make an effort to do anything. You want to go out but do not know where to go, you feel awkward going to places by yourself - joining Solent Friends will help. (We are not a dating site!). You will have the opportunity to attend regular meet ups at the local places near you. Coffee mornings, pubs, cinemas, live music events, days out, restaurants, and lunches. You will also be able to explore the Solent and surrounding areas through organised walks. The organisers are keen to set up new things so if there is something you fancy doing then let one of them know and opportunities will be explored. Our events are hosted by a friendly organiser or event host, who will be more than happy for you to contact them prior to the event  via the site. We are a non-profit making group but do have to cover our site fees and costs. The membership is £12  pro-rated Jan-Dec and is due by 2nd January. ( or when you join. Please ask for details of how to pay). Throughout the year we have random gifts at some events and at the year end we make a  donation  to local charities.  If you see an event you fancy and are free that day add your rsvp. Please do remember that if your circumstances change to amend your rsvp in good time to allow others on the wait list to fill the space, and please put a message on the site for the host.   Most importantly WELCOME

New Forest Wellbeing Group

Dibden, F2

New Forest Wellbeing Group
I started by organising these events to spread love and kindness, which is a big purpose in my life. I also run other projects that may benefit you or others because I have seen a big need for them. It has been so successful in every way, more than I ever imagined, and they have helped so many people in so many ways, which filled my heart with so much joy. You will need to be quick because they fill up quick!   We are building an incredible community, and even some people say a family. We have been building something special and changing people's lives for the better, and everyone is a part of that, so thank you. Hopefully, you will join this group to improve your wellbeing and health.   Looking to improve your life and wellbeing and have some fun along the way? Are you looking to get out with some like-minded people? Trying to figure out how to be happier?   My name is Mark D'Arcy, and I am the founder and creator of the New Forest Wellbeing Group, which aims to help you with your wellbeing and mental health and have a lot of fun doing it. The group will be doing walks, talking from the heart, picnics, camping, meals out, and other events.   My own purpose in life is to spread kindness and love with a caring attitude. This is the perfect way to achieve that, along with the other projects I do. Also, I am trying to change the world by bringing people together through spreading kindness, love, and compassion, which fills my own heart with so much joy! It’s a win-win for everyone.   I believe I can help you find some happiness and hopefully understand yourself more, especially in this crazy world we live in.   I encourage everyone to bring an open mind and a willingness to meet new people and make lasting, meaningful friendships. Our group will aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for anyone who needs it, and everyone over 18 is welcome. I will also offer some mindfulness and self-care strategies on our walks to help promote positive mental health.   The purpose is to bring like-minded people together while socialising face-to-face, helping people combat loneliness and mental health issues while having some meaningful conversations and connections.   My goal is to create a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. I hope to inspire and empower our members to lead healthier and happier lives.   So, if you're ready to join a community that values kindness, mental health, and wellbeing while having some fun, then the New Forest Wellbeing Group is the perfect group for you.

Coast and Forest Events - (C.A.F.E.)

Milford on Sea, F2

Coast and Forest Events - (C.A.F.E.)

Welcome to CAFE! The Coast and Forest Events group(C.A.F.E.)

This Meetup group is aimed at people who live in or around the southern, coastal part of the New Forest – hence the name. We aim to help each other perk up our social lives, by making the most of the excellent leisure facilities and venues we have here locally, right on our doorsteps! If you are “Mid-Life" (!), and maybe find yourself unexpectedly single, there are times when you probably feel like going out to see a film or play or to a comedy night, for a meal, for a walk, for a drink, or even just for a coffee. There's lots to do, but it's not so much fun on your own! This could be the group for you.

Post up here an event or activity you'd really like to go to, and find out if anyone else would like to go along too! We offer friendship and, mostly-inexpensive, local social activities (pub quizzes, meals, walks, live music, a drink at a country pub on a Sunday evening) - while also keeping an eye out for bigger local events, as well as those in Bournemouth, Southampton and beyond for when we feel like making the extra effort!

People of any age and location are welcome, but please bear in mind that most events may take place within an area roughly Lyndhurst to Lymington, Christchurch to Calshot, or close by, and that activities will be focused on the "mid-life" age range. While most members are single, the group is open to sociable singles and non singles alike, (and especially to those who want to actively contribute events to the group!) So, if you want to meet new people, please join!   Please note of course that you are responsible for your own safety and wellbeing while participating in CAFE activities.

CAFE Meetup is exists solely to help its members have Fun! The organisers give their time voluntarily, and reserve the right to exclude from membership anyone they believe intends to use the group for purposes other than …. Fun! Group running costs (website, admin etc) have mostly been covered by occasional small profits on events in the past, but an annual fee of £5 is now payable by new and existing members.   This can be paid online by clicking on the button on the HomePage.   If you are unable to use the online payment system for any reason (and please note that you do NOT have to have a Paypal account yourself to do this) please contact the Organiser, David Hughes for alternative methods of payment.

One last point, profiles on the CAFE site are only visible to other CAFE members. The organisers have now agreed that we would like all members to identify themselves on their profiles with a first name AND a surname (or an initial of it, if you want to keep your surname private) and a clear facial photograph. This is for a variety of reasons to do with the need to be able to accurately and easily identify members booking (and sometimes paying) for public or private events organised within the group.

A first name only, is not acceptable
. Please make sure that your profile meets these minimum standards before applying to join the group.

We hope to meet you soon at a CAFE event.

David, Julie, Jill and the other CAFE organisers.

Helpful Information Points

1). How to change the name on your Meetup profile.

Click 'Account' in the upper right-hand corner of your screen to head to your Account page.

From the 'General' tab, click edit next to your current name. Enter a new name in the space provided, and click 'Submit.'

Note: Your name is a site-wide account setting, which means that you cannot select different names for each Meetup Group that you belong to.

2). Dogs on Walks

Please note, it is a policy of the group that dogs accompanying walkers must be on short leads at all times, unless express permission has been given by the walk leader that it can be let off, and there is no objection from any other walk participant.
This requirement is to ensure the comfort, convenience and safety of walk participants for whom the walk is primarily intended.

Bournemouth ASP.NET Blazor Meetup Group

Bournemouth, D6

Bournemouth ASP.NET Blazor Meetup Group

This is a group for anyone interested in keeping up to date on Blazor and Azure DevOps as this exciting shift towards C# and .Net in the browser with WebAssembly continues to develop at pace. <br>

Aimed at anyone with an interest in Blazor .NET and all the other .NET considerations and ideas along the way including deployment and the full dev lifecycle. <br>

We aim to keep everyone engaged during our events by splitting into two halves, firstly a more high-level topic for those that are new to Blazor or want to reinforce their existing knowledge, followed by a more in-depth topic from a guest speaker and rounded up at the end with some key takeaways, resources, giveaways, prizes, and questions.

We will aim to share knowledge, invite some guest speakers, and gain some valuable insights from a technology perspective.

Really looking forward to sharing some new ideas and developer thinking.

<br>

Please Note*

This is a group that has been created for online events only where you can join in presentations and online learning, all from the comfort of your own home. We are aware that many use this platform to meet in person and meet socially but we have created it for busy people who already have many responsibilities with secular activities and families but would still like to benefit from learning new technology or just curious as to what Blazor is all about. From the feedback we have received from some well-known guest speakers, they really appreciate being able to deliver talks online which saves on, quite often long journeys to travel down, and it also enables us to reach out to really capable people anywhere in the world, which we think is awesome!

<br>

Look forward to seeing you next time!
