Solent Friends

Lee-on-the-Solent, F2

Solent Friends
New to the area, or just looking to expand your circle of friends? This group could be a great place to start. Life events can make it difficult to have a social life and when you do eventually have the time to have one it can be hard to make an effort to do anything. You want to go out but do not know where to go, you feel awkward going to places by yourself - joining Solent Friends will help. (We are not a dating site!). You will have the opportunity to attend regular meet ups at the local places near you. Coffee mornings, pubs, cinemas, live music events, days out, restaurants, and lunches. You will also be able to explore the Solent and surrounding areas through organised walks. The organisers are keen to set up new things so if there is something you fancy doing then let one of them know and opportunities will be explored. Our events are hosted by a friendly organiser or event host, who will be more than happy for you to contact them prior to the event  via the site. We are a non-profit making group but do have to cover our site fees and costs. The membership is £12  pro-rated Jan-Dec and is due by 2nd January. ( or when you join. Please ask for details of how to pay). Throughout the year we have random gifts at some events and at the year end we make a  donation  to local charities.  If you see an event you fancy and are free that day add your rsvp. Please do remember that if your circumstances change to amend your rsvp in good time to allow others on the wait list to fill the space, and please put a message on the site for the host.   Most importantly WELCOME

New Forest Mental Health Group

Southampton, F2

New Forest Mental Health Group
Welcome to the New Forest Mental Health Group. This group is for individuals 18–25 years old who are interested in discussing and seeking support for mental health issues. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or any other mental health challenge, this group provides a safe and compassionate space to share experiences, learn coping strategies, and build a supportive community. Let's come together to break the stigma surrounding mental health and offer each other empathy, understanding, and encouragement on our journey towards healing and well-being. Join us for meetups, workshops, and events that prioritise mental health and self-care. This is what the group is about and how it can help. Looking to improve your life and wellbeing, and maybe have some fun along the way? Are you looking to hang out with some like-minded people? Trying to figure out how to be happier or deal with negative thoughts? Feel like you do not belong? My name is Mark Darcy, and I am the founder and creator of a New Forest Mental Health Group that aims to help you with your mental health and have some fun doing it. My own purpose in life is to try and change the world by bringing people together through spreading kindness, love, and compassion, which fills my own heart with so much joy! It’s a win-win for everyone. I have vast experience in life, coming from a tough childhood to being a successful, wealthy international businessman. Besides being a sponsored triathlete and having suffered from mental illness myself in the past, I am now transformed and truly happy and grateful for the small things in life that we can miss, and I look at my thoughts in a different way because we are very unkind to ourselves. Is there good or bad? Or maybe life is a journey, and along the way, we experience things that we learn from. I believe I can help you find happiness and hopefully understand yourself more, especially in this crazy world we live in when we can feel hopeless. I set up this group to try to help people between the ages of 18 and 25 years old. Collectively, my own life experiences, the great outdoors, amazing venues, 6-week practical courses, and peer-to-peer support from young people like you who have had challenges can demonstrate how they are starting to deal with them. I believe I can help people understand more about the complicated and often challenging world we live in; furthermore, we can teach ourselves how to be happy! (Believe it or not, you don’t have to have loads of money or materialistic things!) My real passion in life is to help people in any way I can. Therefore, I have volunteered for Solent Mind and been involved with other local charities. I'm the founder of the New Forest Wellbeing Group, which has become so successful. What is success? to me, changing people's lives for the better. I have also done talks in the past on wellbeing for the Dorset Chamber of Commerce, charities, and business leaders, as well as a city-center wellbeing walk in Sounthampton. Finally, I will spread kindness and love whenever I can. Small acts of kindness make a big difference, and just choosing to spend your time speaking to someone is being kind. The New Forest wellbeing group I run is on this website, so if you or anyone you know would benefit, please check it out. It has an incredible following, and spaces fill up very quickly, with up to 40 people on the waiting list! We have a lovely community feel within this group, and that really helps people feel included, a part of something, supported, happy, and learn something. I know the group has helped people beyond what they even hoped for, and I am grateful for all the wonderful messages I have received and the conversations I have had. If we all did one act of kindness every day, the world would be an amazing place for everyone. Therefore, please spread the word, because this can help you and your friends. I can also promise you that it will be fun and safe, and you will learn along the way! Even if it just gets you out of your own head and out of the house for a few hours, combined with meeting like minded people and not forgetting the laughs, that alone is a huge achievement and will bring you so much happiness and enrichment. Not only that, it could bring new friendships, supportive relationships, a sense of belonging, and a sense of achievement too. This is an incredible opportunity for you and your friends! So please be kind, share it, and pass it on to everyone that you feel it could help. Taking the path of most resistance can be the most satisfying, but we are wired to take the path of least resistance to protect us, whether that is living or surviving. Why not take the path of most resistance, and I promise you will not get home and wish you didn't go If you are interested or have any questions, contact me directly. I would love to speak to you.

Growing Unlimited UK HSP info and meet-up
Welcome to our HSP UK Meetup :). You may be thinking of joining us because you feel you've always been a bit 'different'. Maybe things affect you more than they appear to affect others and you have a sensitive nervous system? Perhaps you'd like to meet up with some people who are like you, not different from you? Have a look at Dr Elaine Aron's website at HSPERSON.COM and see some of the traits that make up sensitivity. Highly Sensitive People tend to be careful of feeling too overwhelmed or overstimulated by the usual social chatter, noise and expectations of social interaction which is why we create the chance to meet others in a relaxed setting, it is for fun and info. Come along and stay for the whole time or leave early if you need to - we do understand. It's not a 'therapy group' but you may find it supportive being around others who are taking a positive approach to their sensitivity and meeting similar challenges to you. We hold quite a few Meetups in Hampshire SP11 and Cornwall TR19, but also offer meetups from time to time in other parts of the UK and online.  I look forward to meeting you and hope that you will enjoy meeting more people like yourself. We try to meet in locations that match our sensitive nature. We have now changed our membership requirement and removed the annual fee for membership and instead have increased the fee for each attendance at any event. Simply pay for what you attend. When you RSVP for events, you will be prompted to pay by Paypal to growingunlimited@hotmail.com. Alternatively you can pay by direct banking (email for details). These meet-ups are sponsored and owned by Growing Unlimited Therapeutic Consultancy with the aim of supporting HSPs and to promote awareness of the trait. Thank you for joining us and I hope to meet you soon :)  Kind regards   Barbara  Founder, Growing Unlimited Therapeutic Consultancy (2002)
