Six Legged Walks around Ledbury

This Meetup group is for well socialised dogs who want to bring their humans on a lovely hike in the Herefordshire, Gloucestershire or Worcestershire countryside. We’ll meet 2 or 3 times a month for energetic hikes of varying distances and they will usually involve a hill or two! The group is a voluntary amateur social group (your Meetup membership terms include a release of liability for group organisers) hence you are solely responsible for the safety and actions of yourself and your dogs and are expected to respect other group members, land and livestock, and other users of the areas we visit. Due to Meetup doubling their fees I've introduced a £5 joining fee and an annual £5 membership fee due every January. Anyone joining October to December won't be expected to pay the annual fee for their first year. This goes towards paying the meetup subscription cost and any surplus may be used towards other group activities or donated to dog charities. No one will earn any income from the group. So if you enjoy a good hike with your dog, discovering new routes and would like to meet other friendly dogs and their owners then please join us. (The group is for dog owners only plus one guest and membership numbers limited so that there is a good chance of meeting the same people and dogs repeatedly to encourage friendships. Any inactive members, or those who repeatedly cancel, will be politely but firmly removed to make way for anyone who may be waiting to join!)

GHW Sunday Lunches

Do you live in the Gloucestershire, Herefordshire or Worcestershire (GHW!) area? I'd love to meet other people who want to get out and about at weekends and sample some of our finer dining establishments. Singles and Couples are welcome though you'll both need to join the group individually. As I live in Ledbury most places I book will be roughly within a 25 mile radius though I'm happy to drive a bit further sometimes for really good food. I'll organise at least one Sunday Lunch per month initially and charge £2 per event, payable in cash on the day. Meetup isn't free and this will help to cover subscription fees which are now well over £200 per year. Let's see how this goes!

Ledbury Curry Club

This Meetup group is for people who love great curries, like trying new restaurants, and who enjoy meeting new people. It's as simple as that. The Curry Club meets about twice a month at a range of curryhouses which are in and around Ledbury, including Bromyard, Tewkesbury, Hereford, Malvern, Ross and occasionally Cheltenham. We have our favourites - like the Everest Eatery in Malvern Link and Sitara in Ledbury - but we are always looking for new places to try. There is no membership fee. However, everyone attending a curry night contributes £2 which goes towards paying the fee for the Meet-Up subscription, and at the end of the year, any surplus is donated to a local charity. So if you love curries, like trying new places, and would like to 'meet up' with an eclectic group of fellow curry-lovers for some good food, conversation and laughter, then do come and join us! (We deliberately keep membership number under 50 - and unfortunately this does mean there's a waiting list, and it may be quite a few months before a space is freed up).

Welcome to the Malvern Hills District Footpath Society Meetup group. If you enjoy exploring new footpaths, beautiful scenery, and connecting with like-minded individuals, then this is the group for you. We enjoy welcoming new members on our regular short Saturday and Wednesday walks which are usually between 4 and 6 miles. We also have Saturday (occasionally Sunday) long walks of between 8 and 10 miles. Want to get out and meet friendly people in the Malvern Hills area? Join us for social walks on the hills. Our walks always end up at coffee shops and pubs. We want to keep fit, chat with friends, and discover great cake. We walk at a steady pace and take breathers but you'll always find a few climbs. So, please be fit enough to cope with this. Our weekend walks tend to be around 4-5 miles long. Our evening walks are a little shorter (3+ miles). We welcome all ages. Most people are somewhere between mid-forties and early sixties. Please pay £2 per event **(and pay** **via PayPal as you book)**. Volunteer-run, 100% goes towards the Meetup fee (around £200/year). Previously I held Laughter Yoga sessions at The Inner Place in Ledbury but it was difficult to find so I have taken up the suggestion of someone who attended my November session to try Malvern Cube.

For those who are new to this concept,

Come and join me for an hour to experience Laughter Yoga – it may change the way you look at life - to bring in more joy, care, compassion and fun.

Laughter Yoga combines deep breathing (Pranayama) with role-playing everyday activities like greeting, making a milkshake, a mobile phone conversation and showing appreciation. These activities are carried out with child-like playfulness to help people let go of inhibitions and enjoy the moment through laughter. It can give an overwhelming feeling of joy and freedom together with a deep sense of community with the other people in the group session.

Laughter yoga enables people to enjoy good health and wellbeing and helps them cultivate a positive attitude to their lives.

We are all social beings, and in need of social contact, company and support from time to time. However, many people experience social isolation and/or anxiety. I hope you will feel comfortable attending any of our events. If you experience any form of social anxiety and you think it would be helpful for me (Jo) to be aware, please drop me a note (in confidence). We can even agree some strategies to help things along, if you like. These might include a Skype introduction first, adding in some structure to the meetup, keeping the group small for that event etc.
