If you can no longer attend, please change your RSVP status as soon as you can so that the event host is aware. This allows others to take your spot if the event is full. * **Be punctual:** Arrive on time, especially for events with set schedules such as meals out, where the host may have booked a table at a certain time, or walks where the aim is for everyone to depart on the walk together. If you're running late, please try your best to let the event host know. * **Respect and politeness:** One of this group’s benefits is you can meet and connect with people from a range of diverse backgrounds. Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Any harassing or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in removal from the group. Please reach out to a group Co-Organiser if you have any concerns. * **Focus on friendships:** Although we fully encourage people to find lasting and meaningful relationships here, whether they be romantic or otherwise, this group is not a dating site and has been set up for the purposes of making friends. Please be mindful of your behaviour to ensure everyone feels comfortable. **Contribution to Costs** The group is free to join and, unless specified, the events are free to attend. We don't run the group for profit, but it does cost us money to have the group on Meetup and we also purchase various bits of equipment for some of the events. Therefore, once a year we kindly request a small contribution, suggested at £6 from each active member. You will hopefully agree it is quite a bargain for what the group offers. Thank you for joining our community. We’re excited to meet you and hope you enjoy our events!

Free Meditation & Yoga in East Kent

Deal, G5

Free Meditation & Yoga in East Kent
**For Online meetings please visit:** [https://www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk/events/zoom-yoga-meditation-online/](https://www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk/events/zoom-yoga-meditation-online/) We'd like to welcome you to our three **FREE** Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings in Deal. With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required. We are all volunteers of a Charity organisation and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes. All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most **transformative energy** of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it — everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us **restore balance and harmony** within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for. The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is **quite effortless and spontaneous**. The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a **state of yoga**, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK. The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga! Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, **reduce stress and increase wellness and health holistically.** It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it. Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for **peace and self awakening**. All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through **simple meditation techniques**, often with guided meditations to help **re**duce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and **balancing the subtle body**. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with **no mental activity or thoughts** about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a **natural state** of being.

Career Coaching Workshops for Teens

Sandgate, G5

Career Coaching Workshops for Teens
www.career-coaching-for-teens.uk Most of us will spend over 80,000 hours working during our career. That’s around 40 hours a week for 40 years! So how you spend your time at work is one of the most important decisions you will make in your life. Choose wisely, and not only will you have a more rewarding and interesting life, but you might also be able to make a difference to the world and our most pressing problems. Most career coaching programmes are to help with landing different jobs, but these workshops about what career to aim for in the first place.  Most people just rely on conversations with parents, teachers and friends. We believe that a decision so important needs a much more scientific and research-focused approach working with experts in the business of career advice, guidance and coaching. During our research in designing this new programme we have found that much of the traditional advice like: “go with your gut”, “keep your options open” and “just follow your passion” simply does not work. Our approach has come up with many questions that hopefully help you to find what you are good at and how to be more successful. Our current programme is divided into 4 standalone 90-minute workshops, which are delivered face-to-face to a small group and in a classroom setting. There is a requirement to carry out approximately one hours’ worth of ‘homework’ in between the weekly classroom sessions. The workshops take place in Sandgate. The 102 bus runs between Dover and Lydd via Hythe, Sandgate and Folkestone every 15 minutes. For more information and/or to reserve one of only **8 spaces** available on the workshops contact: Kathryn Lammas, Facilitator Coach, Lammas Success Coaching Email: [kathrynlammas@hotmail.com](mailto:kathrynlammas@hotmail.com) Tel: 07375 099173

Kent Lesbians & Queer Womxn

Canterbury, G5

Kent Lesbians & Queer Womxn
A million welcomes into our little corner of the Meetup community, a place to meet likeminded womxn and non-binary people in the ever so brilliant Kent! This group welcomes all womxn and non-binary people who like womxn and non-binary people! Whatever sexuality you identify as, from lesbian-bisexual-pansexual-queer-gay this group is inclusive. We are also age, ability, race, cultural identity and everything else you can identity as inclusive. We never tell you how to look or identify to attend an event or restrict you narrowly to just identifying as 'lesbian'. Occasionally we might run an event which is specifically targeted as part of our community and if we do that we will always tell you why (an example might be an event centred around black, asian and ethnic minority members, dating for a specific group or for vegans); this is never to exclude you but to connect an even more marginalised membership of our community or where members might share a very specific common interest. We are super friendly, always welcoming to our new and regular members, and no matter who you arrive with or arrive alone, you will most definitely leave with new connections and awesome people to hang out with at future events or meet with outside of the group. I know how daunting it can be to come to your first event. Will anyone talk to me? Will I connect with other members? Will the ground open and swallow me right up? I promise after the first few minutes of nerves, you'll have been greeted by one of our lovely hosts and be made to feel part of the furniture. If you are super nervous please alert your host in advance and I recommend to always arrive at the start when it's slightly quieter and you can get more individual attention from your host. With the sharp decline of bars for queer womxn and non-binary throughout the UK, Meetup really is the best way to network and make new connections. Events will be varied, including food, film, drinks, art (although right now during Covid-19 times were are much more restricted to meeting online). If you would like to organise an event get in touch! We are always looking for diverse hosts who are representative of our awesome community. PLEASE READ To enable us to build a great community please treat any events you sign up to as if you were meeting a friend; unless you have an emergency (sometimes life gets under your feet!), make sure to turn up on time and give plenty of notice if you are unable to attend. It is only courteous. Imagine if you arranged to meet a friend and you never showed up... that friendship wouldn't last long! Please note this is a group for adults (18+) PLEASE DONATE Meetup currently charges organisers $180/year to maintain these event pages on their platform. If you can, please donate just a few pounds to the group host via PayPal (PeachMeetup@gmail.com) when you join to help cover these fees. Those with access to a steady, living income or other wealth are encouraged to donate more. Please do not be deterred from attending if financial hardship prevents you from donating.
