Meet New Friends in Merseyside & Local Areas
**ONLY £10 ONE-OFF JOINING FEE....NO ANNUAL CHARGES:** **YOUR FULL MEMBERSHIP WILL BE ACCEPTED AS SOON AS I HAVE RECEIVED YOUR £10 JOINING FEE, YOU CAN THEN ENJOY ALL OF OUR EVENTS.** ***(Joining fee has been updated to match the increase in what meetup.com charge organisors for use of their website).*** This payment helps to cover costs towards Meetup.com website fees (which is charged to each individual group) and to contribute towards the time taken to run and organise the group. **PLEASE NOTE: From 17/07/22, once you are a full member of this group, if you do not join us on an event within six months of joining, your membership may be cancelled.** This group is a well established group and has been running for over 10 years. We've held many fantastic & fun events with many more planned for you to join in with. This group is about creating a mixture of events to suit all tastes. Examples of what we do ... Holidays, theatre shows, plays, cinema, museums, art galleries, local tours of our amazing Liverpool buildings we walk past everyday without noticing, pub quizzes, varied walks, coffee afternoons, afternoon & evening pub crawls, quieter pub drinking times and even racing days. Occasionally our meetup events will be as a group event with our Sister groups: [https://www.meetup.com/St-Helens-District-S](https://www.meetup.com/St-Helens-District-S)... You may be new to the area or just want to go out more often. Is a great opportunity to meet new friends of **ALL AGES** however, **you may like to know that members ages of this group is average of 40's to over 70's, however anyone over 18 is welcome to join.** **Don' t waste anymore time, come and join in the fun!** **= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =** **YOUR PROFILE PHOTO...** Please display a current and clear headshot photo of **JUST YOURSELF** as your main profile photo. Ensure you are NOT wearing sunglasses or a hat as this could make it difficult to recognise you at meetups. It is important that you can easily be recognised by everyone. If your main profile photo isn't acceptable your membership request will be declined and you will receive an email requesting you to change the photo and then re-apply. **YOUR PROFILE NAME . . .** Is your profile name unique? Lots of members have similar forenames which makes it difficult to identify payments for events etc. (Please add some initials or numbers to your first name or just add your surname) = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = ***New event organisers are welcomed*** *and greatly appreciated. So if you have some ideas you'd like to suggest or even organise yourself, then you've come to the right place. (Any events that require payment, all payments will always be collected by myself or on occasions from from members who have the status of Co-organizer only).* Thanks and look forward to meeting you soon! Southport Software Dev Meetup

Southport, 28

Southport Software Dev Meetup

Do you build software, wrangle data, or craft digital experiences? Are you tired of having to voyage out to Liverpool or Manchester to meet like-minded devs? This is the meetup for you!

All are welcome to come along to this free meetup to network and learn new things.

📅📌 When and Where

The meetup is monthly (more or less), usually in the second or third week. Join the group to get notifications of upcoming events!

The venue is Paymentshield on the Kew business park (Paymentshield House, Wight Moss Way, PR8 4HQ)

The event runs 6pm - 8pm with snacks and drinks provided.

It's free of charge.

👩‍💻👨‍💻 Who

The meetup is open to everyone including hobbyists, students, and the tech-curious. Our main audience is professional digital workers and undergrads.

We are working on a Code of Conduct which we plan to enforce, to build a healthy community where everyone feels welcome.

💻 What

We are not being fussy about tech stack as Southport is a fairly small catchment area! So we are open to everything from .Net to MEAN, Excel scripters to Pythonistas.

We hope that you can bring what you find interesting to the group, because we will probably find it interesting too!

📢 Format

We have a techy main talk and Q+A, all wrapped up in some nice coffee and chatting times.

In future occasions, we'd like to have more "lightning talk" slots, as well as time for everyone to network and demo what you're working on.

Fylde Coast Socialites

Blackpool, H2

Fylde Coast Socialites

Our group is for the more discerning grownup in their 40s,50s and 60s, who wants to get out there and enjoy themselves with like-minded peeps ! We will be wining, dining, strolling, visiting, watching, listening, chatting, smiling, laughing and generally enjoying all that life has to offer, here on the fabulous Fylde Coast.

Please read through the following before joining our fab group.

Please supply an up to date face photo of just yourself, so we can recognise you at an event.

On acceptance you will be expected to attend one event (to see if the group is for you, and you are for us!) within the first 3 months before paying subs.

Please attend on a regular basis. We offer a wide choice of events for you to enjoy......don't while away your life on the outside looking in. Join in !

*If you don't attend for a 3 month period you will be removed from the group, and in accordance with Meetups refund policy, so please private message me if there is a genuine reason you find yourself temporarily unable to join in*

Subs are for the twelve month period from the date of joining and subject to Meetups terms and conditions.

We hope you will become a much valued member of our group. To remain so, please follow these three simple requests:-

1/ Please do not 'no show'. Message the host. You wouldn't stand a friend up so don't do it to us !

1 'no show', with an explanation allowed...stuff happens! 2 and you will get a reminder. 3 'no shows' ....sorry but you will lose your membership. Please don't let that happen.

If you 'no show' before you have paid subs, sorry but you will automatically lose your membership.

2/ Please do give at least 24hrs notice if you can't attend an event. This could allow a fellow socialite to take your place.

3/ Please do not repeatedly change your RSVP from yes to no. Our events are well attended and you might be stopping another socialite from joining in.....so only rsvp if you are sure of attending.

Just basic good manners really !

Our group is for people to enjoy each other's company, not a dating site. Please don't send potentially unwanted messages to a fellow socialite.

If you have any special requirements ie dietary etc, please contact the venue directly youself, to see if they can accommodate your needs.

All events at attendees own risk. Whilst we try to be aware of any potential problems, we are all unpaid volunteers running a small social group for your enjoyment. We are not qualified members of staff.

Socialites can bring the same guest (who would potentially qualify for membership in their own right) to two meetups in a twelve month period, after which we would hope they have enjoyed themselves so much that they will also want to become a member !

Suggestions for events, and offers to host such events welcome. The success of the group is dependant on its members being proactive. We can guide and support you through hosting an event. Remember to check the calendar first to see if the date is available and an event is not already scheduled. Simples !

We are not a dog walking group. 1 small, well behaved doggo with its owner may be allowed on a walk. Please check with the host.

For the comfort of our members, we are a non smoking group.

Membership is on a discretionary basis, in line with Meetup policy.
