A chance for people to meet new friends in an open and friendly environment

A group with regular organised walks geographically designed to lead you around picturesque landscapes and monumental landmarks. Each walk is described in detail and often includes a map of the route, approximate miles and skill level. The leader offers historical knowledge about your guided route. Country and Urban walks, local and not so local, circular, linear. Coach trips are arranged too which are always a day to remember and add to the variety of the walking events. These coach trips offer you the choice to do the organised walk or you can go off and explore the location and join up with the walkers later. UK seaside resorts and cities are among the many favourites destinations. Please wear suitable clothing as the weather can be changeable. Walking boots, waterproof jacket are a must, layers are good as easier to be comfortable. Sunscreen, a change of socks perhaps, water bottle, snacks, a charged phone. By joining the group you are accepting full responsibility for your own health and safety. The group is a non profit organisation and each person is a part of a group of friends. Please don't attend walks if you do not feel fit and well. Each person is totally responsible for their own actions. If that policy doesn't suit then don't join. Each person joins events at their own risk. There are no qualified staff or First Aiders. The group is merely a group of friends who share a common interest in walking and the great outdoors. You must accept that the group, event organisers and hosts are not liable for your safety and wellbeing. Each person attending the events are equal and take responsibility for themselves. If that policy doesn't suit then don't join. Each member is expected to treat the fellow members with respect and kindness and any distress caused to other members could lead to immediate removal from the group. The group is free to join, there is no expectation to pay anything. Members are welcome to contribute voluntarily a couple of pounds a year which will go towards the running costs of the group. This would be greatly appreciated as meetup isn't free. Any surplus funds will be donated to a Wildlife charity of your choice and spent on savoury treats on occasions for you to enjoy. Profile photo - All members are required to have a name and photo on their profile. Profile photo should be a clear photo of yourself without sunglasses or face coverings. We must be able to recognise you from your photo. Enjoy the events and stay safe.

From bars, clubbing, dining to hiking we have all sorts of events and your ideas are welcome. Just join up and come along. Leadership - All events set up in Nottingham Friends are to be booked under the group name and not an individual. The group enables large gatherings, the group has a brand therefore the group deserves to be named and promoted. This helps to build confidence in venues across all bookings made by event organisers of the group.

WAMM hosts walks most Saturdays throughout the year and mid-week evenings between March and September. Our year-round social programme is based in and around Leicester, with walks and adventures across the Midlands and occasional trips further afield. Most Saturday walks are planned with public transport in mind.

WAMM is free to join and to attend many of our activities. Where there is a cost involved, this is clearly stated in the event listing and payment is required upfront when booking your place.

Many members from the original Leicester Good Intentions Club (LGIC) have moved to this group when the LGIC closed down in March 2018 after three successful years under Helen F's stewardship. It does not matter whether these events are for leisure or business purposes, such as for relaxation, entertainment, networking or education/training (as long as there's no hard-selling). Leicester South was founded by the lovely Ruth C in January 2013 and has grown in numbers ever since. Ruth has managed the group successfully for 2.5 years and in doing so has enabled lots of people to connect and to make new friends, which has been fantastic for most and life changing for some!

Many friendships have been formed, laughs have been had and good times have been enjoyed!

And for all of this, we would like to say....

Ruth has decided to step down as Organizer but remains a good friend and member of Leicester South and we hope to see her at some of our future events.

We now have a new team of existing members who have volunteered to take on the roles of Organizer and Event Hosts and our aim is to put on a wide variety of events and to continue to attract new members.

We will be continuing with all the regular, fun events which we have all grown to love and enjoy but we have some new and exciting events we are planning for the future too, so....

Leicester South welcomes new members of any age and from any nationality or background who wish to connect and make new friends with like-minded people.

We are a very friendly bunch and will always lookout for new members and personally welcome them into the group, so if you would like to attend your first event with us, or have not been to an event for a long time, there is no need to hesitate, you will soon be chatting and laughing along with the rest of us.

Membership Fees

As some of you are aware, there is a cost involved for us to use the meetup site and so far these costs have been met by some of the regular members chipping in to keep the group going. To make this fairer for everyone from 1st August 2019 new and existing members are asked to pay an upfront amount of £5.00 which will cover their membership until 31st July 2020.

New members (& guests of members) will not be charged anything for their first 2 events with us, however, the  £5 charge will become payable from the 3rd event they attend with Leicester South.

All monies collected from membership fees will be used to pay the on going costs to use the site, booking fees at some of the events, deposits for events and other sundry items we need for certain events.

None of the Organisation Team benefit financially in any way from the membership fees and we all pay the same fees as all other members.

We give our time and energy free of charge because we enjoy being part of Leicester South :)

This group has been created for the more adventurous and discerning group of people who may have got to a certain point in their life where they want to meet new people and socialise in **cool** and **funky** environment, from cocktail bars to organised parties. We wont be tied to anything specific and would be looking to organise meet ups that focuses on **experience** and an **escapism** of our day to day life. From coffee meets, house parties, **cocktail bars** and **late night lounges**! Oh one more thing.... i would love to organise socials and nights out in different cities, lets take the leicester peeps to Manchester, Nottingham or even London!! We are a small independent company that specializes in bespoke group travel as we feel experiences are better shared and there is so much to gain from travelling together.

We started up in 2013 and have 4 groups in the UK which meet for social events, the chance to meet other members, get involved and talk travel.

We plan trips all over the world, from weekends away in Europe to long haul trips in far off destinations, and have had amazing experiences worldwide whilst making great new friends and sharing unforgettable moments together.

A  friendly social group for people mainly in the age range 40 to 60 .live music, pubs, walks , cinema, craft art fairs,festivals,live events of any kind,dining out, general get togethers, BBQ,s,  pubs, theatre, cafes,members own socials at their own homes , local events in and around melton and the vale of belvoir . We  always encourage members to put up their own ideas for a meet up , please don't be shy , this meet up welcomes group members to help run it, and keep fresh ideas coming in :) \*\*\*\* we do ask you to pay £10 as a joining subscription to ensure members do want to actively join and partake in activities.  This goes towards the charges paid each October and April to help pay for subs which are paid to the Meetup Head office by the organiser.  Please forward the fees as advised in the email sent as reminder to stay as a valued member of our small friendly group.  You are also welcome to bring a non member to an event but please could we suggest a fee of £1 each!  All fees paid will be recorded and any excess will be put towards subscriptions so hopefully after the initial £10 no others fees are due, however I will keep you updated.

Leicester ladies ages 21 + , meet up for coffee, lunch, picnics, dinner, events and drinks... Meet up and have a chat with new people and get out for some sunshine or a bite to eat.

Section 31 is a Leicester-based board gaming group that meets every Wednesday from 6pm-10pm. We aim to provide a safe and friendly environment, where folks can make some friends, while playing some of the latest card and board games. These are not games like Monopoly or Scrabble, that you may have played as a kid, but instead include some of the 3,000+ board games that are released each year. A lot of them share similar game mechanics with each other, so if you get stuck with an unknown game, we can show you how to play the games at one of our events. Some of you may still be concerned with meeting in public again, after the whole Covid debacle, so if you feel happier in a facemask that's up to you, it's your choice. But, if you're feeling ill, we still encourage you to stay at home because there will be plenty of other chances to game with your friends when you're feeling better.
