Walking Friends

Nottingham, J9

Walking Friends
A group with regular organised walks geographically designed to lead you around picturesque landscapes and monumental landmarks. Each walk is described in detail and often includes a map of the route, approximate miles and skill level. The leader offers historical knowledge about your guided route. Country and Urban walks, local and not so local, circular, linear. Coach trips are arranged too which are always a day to remember and add to the variety of the walking events. These coach trips offer you the choice to do the organised walk or you can go off and explore the location and join up with the walkers later. UK seaside resorts and cities are among the many favourites destinations. Please wear suitable clothing as the weather can be changeable. Walking boots, waterproof jacket are a must, layers are good as easier to be comfortable. Sunscreen, a change of socks perhaps, water bottle, snacks, a charged phone. By joining the group you are accepting full responsibility for your own health and safety. The group is a non profit organisation and each person is a part of a group of friends. Please don't attend walks if you do not feel fit and well. Each person is totally responsible for their own actions. If that policy doesn't suit then don't join. Each person joins events at their own risk. There are no qualified staff or First Aiders. The group is merely a group of friends who share a common interest in walking and the great outdoors. You must accept that the group, event organisers and hosts are not liable for your safety and wellbeing. Each person attending the events are equal and take responsibility for themselves. If that policy doesn't suit then don't join. Each member is expected to treat the fellow members with respect and kindness and any distress caused to other members could lead to immediate removal from the group. The group is free to join, there is no expectation to pay anything. Members are welcome to contribute voluntarily a couple of pounds a year which will go towards the running costs of the group. This would be greatly appreciated as meetup isn't free. Any surplus funds will be donated to a Wildlife charity of your choice and spent on savoury treats on occasions for you to enjoy. Profile photo - All members are required to have a name and photo on their profile. Profile photo should be a clear photo of yourself without sunglasses or face coverings. We must be able to recognise you from your photo. Enjoy the events and stay safe.

Aldercar and Langley Friends

Langley Mill, D3

Aldercar and Langley Friends
A.L.F is a small social and activity group primarily for people in Aldercar, Langley Mill and surrounding areas. Our aim? To improve life a little bit at a time without having to go too far. We're not therapy but we're a good second option. 😊 Feeling down, stressed, isolated, ill or recuperating? You are not on your own. Get to know other local people with regular cheap, often free, easy to attend shorter activities in small friendly groups of four to twelve people. Progress your social life locally with a variety of longer events and social occasions all whilst supporting some of our local businesses. You will get out and about, happier, socialising and talking, if only about the rotten weather! *NB. As a volunteer group, we make every effort to ensure you are looked after, safe and welcomed. We endeavour to provide you with information on specific activity requirements i.e. footwear, timings, stops etc where necessary and as best we can in order to support your attendance. Participation in activities is done under your own liability.* *A cover photo is appreciated but not mandatory. Accounts inactive for 12 months are deleted.* **Note to organisers: Events at ALF are group aim specific, as such we have a smaller window of what we can do and take much planning, whilst imitation is the best form of flattery, copying, cutting and pasting is not. Should you wish to copy or 'bounce off' a Aldercar & Langley Event, please have the courtesy to message us first.**

Simply Socialising in Ashfield

Kirkby-in-Ashfield, J9

Simply Socialising in Ashfield
**We're a group of over 30s who love getting together for good food, great conversation, and a bit of fresh air.** Whether you're a foodie, a walker, or just looking for a fun group of people to hang out with, we've got you covered. Our group is all about taking it easy and having a good time. We're not a dating group, so you can leave your romantic expectations at the door. Instead, we're all about making new friends, exploring new places, and enjoying life to the fullest. We meet up regularly to try out new restaurants, check out local pubs, and take leisurely walks around the beautiful countryside. And of course, we always have a good laugh along the way. Life is too short to take things too seriously, after all! If you're over 30 and looking for a fun and relaxed social group, then come join us. We promise good food, great conversation, and a warm welcome! ***As a member of our social group, we have a few simple rules to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time:*** 1. Please use your real first name when joining the group. This helps us all get to know each other better and creates a sense of community. 2. Please upload a clear profile picture of yourself. This helps other members recognize you at events and makes it easier for us all to connect. 3. Please keep your RSVP up to date. If you can't make it to an event, please update your RSVP so that we can plan accordingly. 4. Please note that the event organizer is not responsible for you or your actions. We're all adults here, and it's up to each individual to take responsibility for their own safety and well-being. By following these simple rules, we can all enjoy a fun, relaxed, and safe social experience. ***Good news - Our membership is free!*** However, Meetup charges organizers a fee to use their platform to create and manage events. That's why any donations you can give to our group are greatly appreciated! It helps us cover the costs and allows us to continue providing fun events for our members. Don't worry, we're not trying to guilt you into donating - we're just happy to have you as part of our community! So, come along, join the fun, and if you feel like donating [(](https://paymentrequest.natwestpayit.com/reusable-links/24ab7ee4-e65b-413f-9d70-2bcf79c2b663)[click here](https://paypal.me/SimplySocialisingAsh?country.x=GB&locale.x=en_GB)[)](https://paymentrequest.natwestpayit.com/reusable-links/24ab7ee4-e65b-413f-9d70-2bcf79c2b663), we promise to be very grateful (and maybe even give you a high five!). Mansfield's Ladies

Mansfield, J9

Mansfield's Ladies
This is a group for ladies in Mansfield and the immediate area looking to widen their social circle, all ages are welcome The group can be whatever you want it to be, but most importantly we are keen to ensure everyone feels welcome.  The activities are varied and suggestions for different meetups are very welcome but if you like cocktails, live music, afternoon teas etc then we could well be the group for you. New members are welcome to come along within the first 30 days to a meetup to see if the group is to their taste prior to paying membership. There is an annual subscription fee of £6.00 which is payable by Paypal to [mansfieldladiesgroup@gmail.com](mailto:mansfieldladiesgroup@gmail.com) (please select friends/family to avoid charges), by bank transfer or if you prefer cash can be paid at a meet up within the first 30 days of joining. Unfortunately if payment is not made within 30 days, members will be removed from the group.  The annual subscription monies paid by members is used to pay the Meetup annual subscription charge and if we are ever at a point where there is any monies left over, I will ask members what is the best way to use the additional funds.  Renewal of membership fees for subsequent years is due in the month of joining. We operate a 3 'no show' rule as this aids to the courtesy and smooth running of the group and is particularly relevant where there is a limited number of spaces and a waiting list. Any ladies who have 3 'no shows' will be removed from the group. Ladies cancelling on the day for a meetup with a limited number of places will also be classed as a no show. Ladies who have previously been a member of the group and removed for any reason are not able to attend as guests. Should any ladies wish to become an organiser, that would be great, just let me know. Please join and lets make some new friends - there is likely to be plenty of coffee, cake and cocktails! I look forward to meeting you soon, Liz.

Travel on a Budget UK

Glapwell, D3

Travel on a Budget UK

This group is for those who enjoy travelling but may not have a travel partner or prefer to travel in groups, particularly suited to those who like to keep costs down! Whether you want to join in a break which has been listed, or have seen a deal you'd like other members to know about, I hope that this group will increase opportunities to enjoy breaks, both in the UK and abroad.

This group is not aimed solely at single people, although it is single people who tend to be looking for travel companions, and IS NOT here to facilitate dating opportunities or hook-ups (although I am not naïve enough to believe that that won't happen, on occasion);  couples are very welcome, as are those who are part of a couple but wish to travel without your partner, for whatever reason.  We aim to provide a safe and pressure-free environment for everyone, whatever your personal circumstance.

Please remember, however, that we are not professional tour organisers (personally, I just like to get away as often as possible on bargain breaks) and are not responsible for members, so when travelling, take care of yourself and your possessions and behave responsibly.

There will also be occasional social meetups in and around the three counties, so we have the opportunity to get to know each other before travelling (I also have a Mansfield-based meetup group, Friendships Around Mansfield -meetup.com/FAMILYMansfield - which hosts a wide range of more regular social events) so you're not travelling with strangers.

This group is free to join and we are open to all and any suggestions, so if there is somewhere you'd like to go, let us know; I keep an eye on all Wowcher, Groupon & Travelzoo deals (although many of these are not as good as they seem) as well as finding myself on budget airline sites, finding out when the cheapest flights are available.  Although we are happy to post special deals from travel organisers, we do not allow commercial advertising on this site, so please post only details of trips which you are intending to take yourself.

If cheap travel, making new friends (and memories) and experiencing the world is what you enjoy, then welcome aboard and happy travelling!
