We must be able to recognise you from your photo. Group policies - Kindness and respect are important so treat others how you wish to be treated. Note - any members who are seen to be causing distress to other members are at the risk of being removed from the group. Any suspected fake or menace profiles will receive a kind request to update their profile. Failure to comply will result in the removal of the profile. Leadership - All events set up in Nottingham Friends are to be booked under the group name and not an individual. The group enables large gatherings, the group has a brand therefore the group deserves to be named and promoted. This helps to build confidence in venues across all bookings made by event organisers of the group.

Walking Friends

A group with regular organised walks geographically designed to lead you around picturesque landscapes and monumental landmarks. Each walk is described in detail and often includes a map of the route, approximate miles and skill level. The leader offers historical knowledge about your guided route. Country and Urban walks, local and not so local, circular, linear. Coach trips are arranged too which are always a day to remember and add to the variety of the walking events. These coach trips offer you the choice to do the organised walk or you can go off and explore the location and join up with the walkers later. UK seaside resorts and cities are among the many favourites destinations. Please wear suitable clothing as the weather can be changeable. Walking boots, waterproof jacket are a must, layers are good as easier to be comfortable. Sunscreen, a change of socks perhaps, water bottle, snacks, a charged phone. By joining the group you are accepting full responsibility for your own health and safety. The group is a non profit organisation and each person is a part of a group of friends. Please don't attend walks if you do not feel fit and well. Each person is totally responsible for their own actions. If that policy doesn't suit then don't join. Each person joins events at their own risk. There are no qualified staff or First Aiders. The group is merely a group of friends who share a common interest in walking and the great outdoors. You must accept that the group, event organisers and hosts are not liable for your safety and wellbeing. Each person attending the events are equal and take responsibility for themselves. If that policy doesn't suit then don't join. Each member is expected to treat the fellow members with respect and kindness and any distress caused to other members could lead to immediate removal from the group. The group is free to join, there is no expectation to pay anything. Members are welcome to contribute voluntarily a couple of pounds a year which will go towards the running costs of the group. This would be greatly appreciated as meetup isn't free. Any surplus funds will be donated to a Wildlife charity of your choice and spent on savoury treats on occasions for you to enjoy. When Worlds Collide - East Mids Sci Fi & Fantasy Meet Up

A Monthly Pub Meet in a friendly relaxed environment. Meet people with similar interests in Science Fiction & Fantasy books, Comics, TV & Films and make new friends. The regular monthly meet-up is held in a pub centrally located in Nottingham and is a place where you can chat and participate in a fun quiz. Currently we have a separate room to provide somewhere with atmosphere but where it is still possible to talk without shouting but there is still space to expand should regular meet-ups out-grow the current space.

Visits and events will be planned, including movie nights, Sci-fi & Fantasy events and Comic Conventions and if successful, there is the potential for occasional meetups in other places like Derby & Leicester.

Getaway Friends is for groups of nice people to go on trips together in the UK and Overseas. A great way to meet new people and make friends sharing conversations, meals, walks and activities with like minded people who share similar interests. Walking in the hills, camping/glamping, city breaks, beaches, festival weekends, fun parks, party weekenders, log cabins, villas, cottages, day trips and more. Accommodation and resorts will vary between events. Room share between friends can help to keep costs down but a room to yourself is an option if you prefer. The host will plan the basics of the trip, accommodation and include a list of links to tourist attractions, available transport, beaches, walks, restaurants, entertainment and other useful information relevant per trip. The host may travel with the party or assist remotely. Either way the planning and booking will be done for you. All you have to do is pack and turn up. The freedom to do your own thing or join in with the others is entirely your choice. Each person is responsible for themselves and will be expected to behave in an appropriate manner and respect the other members of the party. Failure to behave will result in instant removal from the group and possible ban.

This is a group for ladies in Mansfield and the immediate area looking to widen their social circle, all ages are welcome The group can be whatever you want it to be, but most importantly we are keen to ensure everyone feels welcome. The activities are varied and suggestions for different meetups are very welcome but if you like cocktails, live music, afternoon teas etc then we could well be the group for you. New members are welcome to come along within the first 30 days to a meetup to see if the group is to their taste prior to paying membership. The annual subscription monies paid by members is used to pay the Meetup annual subscription charge and if we are ever at a point where there is any monies left over, I will ask members what is the best way to use the additional funds. Renewal of membership fees for subsequent years is due in the month of joining. We operate a 3 'no show' rule as this aids to the courtesy and smooth running of the group and is particularly relevant where there is a limited number of spaces and a waiting list. Any ladies who have 3 'no shows' will be removed from the group. Ladies cancelling on the day for a meetup with a limited number of places will also be classed as a no show. Ladies who have previously been a member of the group and removed for any reason are not able to attend as guests. This group is for those who enjoy travelling but may not have a travel partner or prefer to travel in groups, particularly suited to those who like to keep costs down! Whether you want to join in a break which has been listed, or have seen a deal you'd like other members to know about, I hope that this group will increase opportunities to enjoy breaks, both in the UK and abroad.

This group is not aimed solely at single people, although it is single people who tend to be looking for travel companions, and IS NOT here to facilitate dating opportunities or hook-ups (although I am not naïve enough to believe that that won't happen, on occasion); couples are very welcome, as are those who are part of a couple but wish to travel without your partner, for whatever reason. We aim to provide a safe and pressure-free environment for everyone, whatever your personal circumstance.

Please remember, however, that we are not professional tour organisers (personally, I just like to get away as often as possible on bargain breaks) and are not responsible for members, so when travelling, take care of yourself and your possessions and behave responsibly.

There will also be occasional social meetups in and around the three counties, so we have the opportunity to get to know each other before travelling (I also have a Mansfield-based meetup group, Friendships Around Mansfield -meetup.com/FAMILYMansfield - which hosts a wide range of more regular social events) so you're not travelling with strangers.

This group is free to join and we are open to all and any suggestions, so if there is somewhere you'd like to go, let us know; I keep an eye on all Wowcher, Groupon & Travelzoo deals (although many of these are not as good as they seem) as well as finding myself on budget airline sites, finding out when the cheapest flights are available.
