Welcome to Peterborough Friends. We have been getting people off their sofas and out of the house since 2015. Firstly, we are not a singles, dating website, we are a social group.  We welcome friends from anywhere of any age, whether you are single, in a relationship or married. We eat out, drink, laugh, walk, dance, party, go to the theatre and even go on holidays. The group has events to suit anyone of any age. If you are fed up of staying in, wasting your time on dating websites and social media or just lonely then please give the group a try.  Scroll through our calendar and see the many varied events planned for this year. If you are interested in an event then please sign up to it so that myself and the other members can look out for you. Can I please ask that you bring cash when attending meals out as it makes it easier to pay the bill and means that the waitress does not have several small card payments for one booking. All meals will require a £5 deposit. This is to secure your place. If you cannot attend for a genuine reason I will transfer the deposit to another event, however if you cancel on the day of the event this will not be refunded. In the event of a meal being cancelled the deposits will be refunded. If I have asked for your deposit and you have not sent it I will move your name on to the waiting list until it has been received. If you RSVP for a theatre trip please send the full payment to me straight away as I have to book tickets for these events promptly so that we can all sit together. Lifts and travel can be shared so please don't be afraid to ask. Just post a comment on the event to see if anyone can help. Please do not contact people directly for lifts unless you have made friends with them. If you are free during the day we meet on Mondays at 11am and Thursdays at 2pm at Central Park. We meet outside the Willow Cafe in the centre of the park. If the weather is bad we still meet for coffee. These are gentle walks but if you would rather just come for a chat and a coffee please arrive at 11.30 and I will meet you in the cafe. If you prefer a longer walk then please sign up for Mark's alternate Sunday and Wednesday evening walks. MEMBERSHIP You will need an up to date photo of yourself to join this group. This is so I can recognise you at events. You will be removed from the group if you refuse to do this. It is helpful if you add a surname as we are a large group and this will make it easier for me. You are welcome to try out the group for free but after two events the cost is £25 for the year, via bank transfer to M J James, Halifax 11-07-34 00228953 ref "sub" or you can pay cash at any event where I have a receipt book. This cost covers the website charges, some of my expenses and allows me to run the group on a full time basis. This amount is non-refundable. If you do not attend your first event for six months your membership will be cancelled unless the subscription payment is received. As I do not have the time to run a walk every weekend at the moment, I am leaving other walk leaders to list events of their choice on the Peterborough Walking Meetup Group. And some regulars have already formed various groupings of their own, due to the restrictions placed on us at this point in time.

In the meantime I will be running occasional walks on this group. As we need to abide by current guidelines, these will only involve small numbers. For that reason I will only be granting membership to people who I already know. And in particular, those who don't have others they can walk with at this time.

A  friendly social group for people mainly in the age range 40 to 60 .live music, pubs, walks , cinema, craft art fairs,festivals,live events of any kind,dining out, general get togethers, BBQ,s,  pubs, theatre, cafes,members own socials at their own homes , local events in and around melton and the vale of belvoir . Hi everyone, This group is for people in the Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, and Nottinghamshire area (e.g. Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Northampton, Oakham, Stamford, Leicester etc.) and nearby/surrounding areas of the East Midlands (including Nottingham and Derby) who would like to play racket sports (badminton, squash and table tennis) regularly on a casual and leisure basis. Sessions could be arranged as one-to-one games or as a group setting between members. Regardless whether you are new to playing squash, badminton and/or table tennis, and would like to try out these sports for the first time, or are an experienced player, everyone is welcome. On joining the group, please introduce yourself, any experience you have with playing any of the mentioned racket sports (whether your are new or experienced player), your general interests and any other sports that you enjoy playing etc. With playing sports together, and having shared and common interests, this group is also a good opportunity and place for people to socialise and meet new people, and also make new friends. Maybe you are new to the area or perhaps one day you decide that you should be doing more with your leisure time. Well this is the perfect opportunity. We are fortunate that we have a number of excellent event hosts who voluntarily give up their free time to research and host events for our members to enjoy. We do ask that all of our members keep their RSVPs up to date. It only takes afew seconds to change an RSVP. No shows and very late cancellations cause hosts particular difficulties with managing events and may even dicourage them from hosting which would be a great shame. **MORE DETAILS ON THE GROUP** We are extremely fortunate to be based in Stamford, the "finest stone town in England" with its 600 listed buildings, five medieval churches and a vibrant social scene.  **IS THIS A SINGLES CLUB?** Stamford Meetup is **not** a singles club or dating group. Looking for a group where you can socialize and walk your dog at the same time? (We are too) This is a group for people who want to socialise with their dogs and around their dogs. Whether you have a new puppy that you’re socialising or a dog who wants some friends, all are welcome!

I started this group to bring together dog owners and build a group of canine friends for my Cockerpoo - the bouncy Morrissey. He loves other dogs and adores playtime and although we've met some lovely friends this way, I'd love to bring friends together on a regular basis. And we'd love to achieve the same for other dogs, puppies and their owners!
