**WELCOME TO OUR SITE and thank you for your interest in our group!** We are a friendly and welcoming group (average age 55) who meet for walks and social events in Somerset, Devon and Dorset. Our programme is entirely volunteer lead by members of the group and we try to cater for a wide range of tastes and interests. There is almost always something on every weekend as well as during the week and we hope to see you at an event soon. Every walk or event has a 'host' who will welcome you and introduce you to some of our members, so you will soon feel at home. **Getting to know us:** we organise regular informal drinks events (TGIF or similar) in local venues. They are a great opportunity to meet us, find out what we do, and how you can get the most out of your membership. The group is run on a voluntary basis by our **Leadership Team:** Hollie King (Group Organiser) and Julie Selway (Group Treasurer). We also have a wider **Leadership Group** consisting of our regular Walk Leaders and Event Organisers. Like many other Meetup Groups we ask for an annual subscription (renewable annually in July) to cover our running costs. If you would like to proceed this is what you need to do: 1) Upload a clear and recent photo of yourself and click "Request to Join" to create a profile containing your **first name and your surname** \- we need this to identify your payment; **and** 2) Transfer the annual subscription fee of £6.00 to our account. You will receive an email to confirm that your application has been approved. **Walks** are graded according to their length and the terrain. We cater for beginners and experienced walkers. Please read the description and take your own level of fitness into consideration before signing up for a walk. Everyone taking part in our activities does so at their own risk. We do not employ qualified guides, leaders or first aiders on any of our events. The group works on the same basis of being a group of friends who go out walking together, and who invite others to join them on this basis. Event organisers and event hosts assume no responsibility for anyone attending any group event. The group, group organisers, event organisers and event hosts will not be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss occurring as a result of any group event or in connection with travel to such event, however caused. When you join a walk or other event, you indicate that you accept these conditions and accept that no legal liability is accepted by the group, group organisers, event organisers or event hosts in the event of accident or injury, however caused. Participants in group events are reminded that outdoor activities frequently need specialist equipment (boots, waterproofs, etc) and the group does not provide these. Participants are responsible for assessing their own risk, the safety of themselves and their guests and the suitability of any equipment used. Any medical conditions that may affect the participants during the walk should be notified to the walk leader prior to the start of the walk. Any participant in a walk or an event who has an existing medical condition is personally responsible for ensuring that they carry appropriate first aid/medication. While accepting no responsibility or liability, for walks and other outdoor events, the event host or walk leader may, at their discretion, choose not admit you to join the walk or other event if in their opinion you are ill-equipped for the terrain and weather conditions. **Dogs:** Well behaved dogs are allowed on walks at the discretion of the walk leader. Please see the individual event details or contact the walk leader. Dogs must be kept under close control at all times and on a lead where necessary or requested by the walk leader. Dog owners must, at all times, ensure that they comply with the Countryside Code 2021, which can be read [here](https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-countryside-code-launched-to-help-people-enjoy-the-outdoors). **Livestock:** walks may include public rights of way across fields in which livestock are present. Walk leaders are not responsible for how livestock could react and you should not approach livestock whilst crossing these fields. All gates **MUST** be left as they are found. **Guests:** can only attend events with the event organiser's permission. The group’s disclaimer (see above) also applies to guests and it is the responsibility of any member who invites a guest to attend an event to make this clear to the guest. **Sharing Transport:** if you are interested in sharing transport please post a message in the comments thread for the event in question. A voluntary contribution towards the cost of petrol will be appreciated by the driver. **Booking a place on an event:** each event has a first come first served number limit and a waiting list if an event is full. You will automatically be informed if your name moves from the Waiting List to the Going List. **Cancelling a place on an event:** it is your responsibility to "Edit Your RSVP" if your plans change so that someone else can take your place. Contact the event organiser if you are not sure how to do this. Other than in circumstances beyond your control please remove yourself from an event at least 48 hours in advance. **On the day:** walk leaders/event organisers will provide information on how they can be contacted if your plans change on the day. As a courtesy to others, please avoid being a ‘No Show’ as this delays the start of the walk/event. The Leadership Team reserves the right to suspend or remove membership from any individual who is a persistent ‘No Show’ on walks/events.

Somerset Photography Group (SPG) has been created for anybody within the Somerset and surrounding areas with a passion of photography, who would like to spend more time getting out and about with their camera and learning new skills.

Whether you are a total novice or have some experience in photography, the aim of SPG is to provide a community for members to share their experiences and help others excel in what we all love to do best. If you have the flare to pass on knowledge or simply have an interest to learn then this is the place for you.

SPG encourages all members to get involved in suggesting events or even hosting them. Days out photographing around Somerset (and the UK) will be planned and will provide a friendly and comfortable environment for learning or enjoying the company of others.

There will be regular Meet and Greets to allow new members to meet current members. This will also provide an opportunity to discuss other group matters and plan events. Other social events will be looked at throughout the year.

In time there will be courses run to introduce beginners to the world of digital photography.

As the founder of SPG I would like to take this time to let you all know that I am here to answer any questions you may have, and to help keep SPG enjoyable and available to all those wishing to be part of it. In order for me to do that there has to be some terms and conditions imposed for the benefit of the whole group. I have tried to keep this group as unrestricted as I can, so all I ask is that you read and uphold them.

JOINING CRITERIA

In order to join Somerset Photography Group (SPG), you must have a current and recognisable photograph of yourself, and be willing to accept and abide by the Disclaimer, Terms and Conditions and Group Rules.

Somerset Photography Group reserve the right to approve new members whenever they feel it to be in the best interest of the group and its current members.

Somerset Photography Group is free to its members. Every effort will be made to make events free but at times a small cost may be required to cover venues or other unavoidable fees. Event hosts may have put a lot of time and effort into planning a meetup and as such a small donation of £1 for members (£2 for guests) maybe requested to ensure more events will planned in the future.

As a member of Somerset Photography Group, you agree and acknowledge that the group organiser or event hosts do not have a legal responsibility for the duty and care of any individual attending an event, and that any individual attending an event or meetup does so entirely at their own risk.

Meetup, SPG nor an organiser or event host will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, theft or injury to an attendee or any equipment that occurs while taking part in an event or travelling to and from an event.

Event organisers or hosts of SPG may not necessarily hold professional qualifications or have attended any formal training in relation to the planned event.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

COSTS. Any member (or guests) attending an event organised through SPG will cover any individual costs including, but not limited to, all travel, event tickets, accommodation, meals and other expenses or purchases, unless stated by the event organiser.

RSVP. Please RSVP to any event (Meetup) that you wish to attend. Members are not permitted to attend unless they have RSVP’d. If your circumstances change and are unable to attend, then you are expected to update your RSVP’s and inform the event host as soon as possible.

GUESTS. Members are welcome to invite guests where there are no place limits or waiting lists. The names of any guests should be passed to the event organiser. If a guest attends more than three events organised by SPG then they may be required to join the group as a member.

NO SHOW. To ensure a fair allocation of event spaces, Somerset Photography Group has a strict No Show policy. Members are welcome to RSVP to as many events as they wish, however failure to attend an event without updating your RSVP’s or informing the event organiser will result in it being a ‘No Show’. If a member accumulates three ‘No Shows’, they will be removed from the group.

INACTIVE MEMBERS. SPG encourages all members to get involved by joining events and hosting events. SPG should be seen as a community where everybody can teach and learn from one another. Periodic checks will be done of the group members and inactive members may be removed.

PHOTOGRAPHS. Any member that attends an event organised by SPG are encouraged to upload photos afterwards for other members to view. Copyright of an individual’s photo will remain with them but SPG cannot accept responsibility for any photographs that are uploaded. It is advised that anybody worried about their images being stolen should upload them with a watermark.

BULLYING AND ABUSE. Under no circumstances will any form of bullying, either verbally or physically be accepted by any members of SPG towards any other member of this group or any other group on Meetup, at any time. Members who are found to be breaking this rule will be removed from this group and reported to Meetup or the local authorities. Any member who feels they are being bullied or victimised should report the incident and person to the group admin immediately.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT. Any member attending a photographic event organised by SPG will be responsible for the security and protection of their own equipment. Somerset Photography Group, nor Meetup will be held responsible for any damage of theft to any equipment owned by somebody attending the event at their own risk. It is advised that members have adequate insurance to cover any equipment they might have.

Taunton Roleplaying Group is an established tabletop gaming group with an emphasis on roleplaying with rich, interesting characters, rather than dice mechanics. We have a number of experienced GMs, who do a great job of bringing our gaming worlds to life. Fantasy and Sci-Fi roleplaying, any games considered.

At the moment, our members are a mixture of complete beginners and veteran gamers, so there's a seat for everyone at the table. We are a friendly bunch, so come along and give us a try.

We meet once a week at a pub in central Taunton, Somerset, chosen for its quiet and relaxed atmosphere, real ales and ciders. We have a dedicated room put aside just for us so we're not disturbed.

Taunton Eating Out Group

We are a friendly group of people aged 60 years and over, who enjoy eating out in Taunton and thereabouts in congenial company. We host meals for no more than 6 people at the table, so that everyone can talk to everyone else, and get to know each other. New members will pay a £5 joining fee. All members will pay an annual £5 membership fee due 1st March each year, starting in the calendar year after joining. For example: Join from launch (June 2024) until 31 December 2024, first annual membership fee will be due 1 March 2025 Join from 1 January 2025 until 31 December 2025, first annual membership fee will start 1 March 2026. All fees will be used to contribute to Meetup charges which allow us to use the Meetup.com website. The group will always be non-profit making, and any excess of fees collected over Meetup charges will be reimbursed to the whole membership in the form of reduced annual membership fees, when enough excess has been collected. All members must upload a photo to their Meetup profile that clearly identifies them, which must remain on their profile throughout their membership. This is for security purposes, and to ensure that members can identify each other. Members are actively encouraged to organise meals themselves, always catering for no more than 6 people - just ask the Group Organiser who will talk you through the process. We expect everyone in the group to treat other members with respect and courtesy at all times. Any form of abuse, whether verbal, in writing, or on-line will result in loss of membership. As of March 2017 I relocated to Devon in what can only be described as a slice of heaven. Re-connecting with mother nature is what truly grants Shamanic powers. I am so thrilled to say that my journey is continuing. The power of the earth is so strong here and true Shamanism can only be practised in nature. As we focus into Life experience, we each have a unique purpose, a unique experience, a unique expression, unique passions, and a unique skill-set……and, much more importantly, a deeper nature to who we are! There is a part of us (which is ultimately our true nature!), from which arises immeasurable peace, love, joy, growth, authenticity, fulfillment, empowerment, guidance, wisdom, purpose, passion, abundance, creativity, confidence, and a sense of feeling whole, complete, fulfilled and at home in this physical environment! It is the true nature of every human being and all things, and we are here to realize it, feel it, be it, and have it be the awareness from which we allow our unique, amazing, wonderful life expression and experience to emerge/unfold/arise!

This group is, to inspire and support you in finding this true-nature place within yourself, in creating consistency in connection, and in creating the authentic and aligned Life experience that arises as a result! Meditation & Conscious Living Circles, and Workshops covering various areas and perspectives, are on offer, and for those who wish to focus-in further and go deeper, 1 to 1 Sessions are on offer also!

Although this journey to realizing and becoming your true nature and your true expression is one that is ultimately undertaken by you and you alone, 1 to 1 connection with another, and group environment, is of immense value and benefit! We are all connected in the most amazing way, and for those of you who additionally wish to have the experience, the safe and loving spaces created at events here are great for making connections and companions with like-minded and resonant people along the way!

Weston Social Meetup

A friendly, informal get-together Meetup site for people to meet, make friends, talk, laugh and have some fun together. Meetup events might include social drinks, meals out, outdoor activities, walking, pub meals, live music, cinema etc. Please note that the Group offers no insurance. When you agree to meet up and take part in any events, you do so with the understanding that it will be at your own risk. Neither the Organizer or any event hosts are able to accept liability for any losses or injuries incurred. The Meetup fees are paid from member donations, therefor all new members will be required to pay an annual sub of £5. In order for members to identify each other and for security reasons, you must provide an up to date photo of yourself when you join which must remain on your profile. As with all other Meetups, it is expected that members will foster a culture of respect for each other. The Organizer reserves the right to remove any member that appears to be behaving in a way that others find unacceptable. Any form of harassment or intimidation of another member either verbally, in writing or via online sources will result in the perpetrator being removed from the Meetup. Members say that they have a lot of fun and enjoy attending events with this Meetup. It is hoped that members will put forward a range of different activities that they are interested in doing so that other members can join them, therefore you are encouraged to do the same. If you wish to be an event host or put on activities, let the Organizer know.
